  • Publication number: 20230332338
Abstract: A method of power control for a textile machine with simultaneously operated workstations and with at least one power supply unit for jointly powering the workstations, a power control unit and a spinning machine. The method enables rapid run-up of the textile machine and minimise delays and downtimes. The method comprises steps that initially involve determining the required electrical power output of each of the workstations, then determining the simultaneously executable operations on the basis of the determined required power and a maximum power output of the power supply unit. Optimised operating data of the several workstations powered jointly by a power supply unit can be obtained in order to make the best possible use of the maximum power output of a power supply unit, wherein the required electrical power output and/or the simultaneously executable operations are determined, and/or optimised operating data is obtained taking into consideration current batch data.

  • Patent number: 11174105
Abstract: A tube storage and transport device for a textile machine producing cross-wound packages, which has a plurality of similar workstations arranged side-by-side on both longitudinal machine sides, having a central tube magazine and two empty-tube conveyor belts arranged in the region of the longitudinal machine sides is provided. To improve the known tube storage and transport devices, and in particular to optimize the clock times that can be achieved during the empty-tube delivery, the tube magazine has at least two elevator units, that the elevator units have stacked and vertically displaceable holders for empty tubes, that the holders are designed for the empty tubes to be set down in a manner oriented the longitudinal direction of the machine, and that each of the elevator units is connected to one of the empty-tube conveyor belts and is designed in such a way that empty tubes are removed from the elevator units from the longitudinal machine side and transferred onto the empty-tube conveyor belts.

  • Patent number: 8534359
Abstract: Oil sands and like host materials are leached with a selected leachant to render pumpable the oil (including heavy oil, bitumen or kerogen and asphaltenes) as leachate. In a preferred embodiment, natural deposits are in situ leached and the leachate recovered and removed for treatment. The leachant is separated and recycled. The leachant is selected to be biodegradable and to not precipate asphaltenes, and to comprise monoterpenes of the formula C10H16. The overall process allows environmentally acceptable resource development and contaminated site remediation.

  • Patent number: 8454915
Abstract: Calcium (Ca), manganese (Mn) and magnesium (Mg) carbonate plus lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) sulphide minerals in a permeable host, crushed ore, concentrates or as mine discharge tailing are selectively solution mined (in-situ or ex-situ) with a selected acid e.g. acetic acid to extract Ca, Mn, and Mg followed by multivalent oxidizing salts e.g. ferric salts to extract Pb and Zn sequentially. For in-situ leaching, an inter relationship has been identified between pressure, temperature, target depth and leachate concentration such that carbonate leaching is performed in a manner to prevent carbon dioxide gas (CO2) discharge thereby plugging host rock permeability avenues to preclude further leaching. This requires controlling the rate of acetic acid leaching to be in step with availability of solution to dissolve the resulting discharged CO2. Sulphide leaching is subsequently conducted on the carbonate-depleted host.

  • Patent number: 7378813
Abstract: A system for determining a zero position of a yarn guide (25) of a textile winding device for cross-winding yarn into cheeses via a step motor (34). The yarn guide (25), acted upon by the step motor (34), is initially displaced in the direction of its zero position (NS) and positioned at a slow speed against a defined detent (15) downstream of the zero position (NS). Then, the step motor (34) is switched off, causing the rotor (41) of the step motor (34) to drop into one of two possible stop positions (RS1, RS2). Subsequently, the step motor (34) is switched on by an electrical current supply to its stator windings (20A, 20B) such that, when switched off, the rotor (41) of the step motor (34) is in the stop position (RS2) in which the yarn guide (25) is in its zero position (NS).

  • Patent number: 6517701
Abstract: Aqueous solutions containing lead, zinc and manganese are treated to recover these metals by sequential solvent extraction steps. Solvent extractants are selected to extract preferentially lead, then zinc and then manganese in that order. Any interfering metals are removed (as by ion exchange) before extraction. The loaded extractant phases are stripped with selected acids and lead, zinc and manganese each recovered from the strip solutions. Optionally calcium can be recovered when present. A preferred type of extractant (for lead especially) is substituted monothiophosphinic acids. A closed loop system is described which is advantageous with leachate from sulphide and carbonate ores.

  • Patent number: 5523066
Abstract: A process is described for solubilizing lead contained in ores mineralized with sulphidic minerals by in-situ leaching with an acetic acid and acetate containing solution in presence of an oxidant. The in-situ leaching is conducted by means of drillholes in the ore body. In another embodiment the acetic acid and acetate containing solution is percolated through a bed of crushed untreated rock or unconsolidated mineral particles, mill tailings and/or agglomerated or unagglomerated sulphidic lead containing waste material, forming a pile or a layer in an open vat, in presence of an oxidant. Lead is recovered from the pregnant lead acetate containing solution and the solution may subsequently be recycled to further leaching of lead sulphidic minerals or lead sulphide containing particles.

  • Patent number: 4966761
Abstract: A process is described for recovering vanadium and zeolitic alumino-silicates from flyash and similar carbon-bearing heat treated materials. The process includes steps for the separation of carbon, followed by pressure leaching the carbon-depleted flyash in relatively dilute alkali metal hydroxide solutions at elevated temperatures. The leach liquor is separated from the residue and is subsequently treated in an amine containing solvent extraction process step for vanadium recovery, and optionally, for other metals present in the leach liquor. The vanadium in the strip liquor is precipitated to obtain vanadium containing compounds. The leach residue is treated separately to recover zeolitic alumino-silicates therefrom. In another variation of the process, the vanadium is recovered from the leach liquor by means of a strong base anoin exchange resin.
