Publication number: 20250044966Abstract: The disclosed device includes a cache that stores sets of settings for memory states, and registers that store a current set of settings for a memory. The device also includes a control circuit that can read, from the cache in response to the memory transitioning to a new memory state, a new set of settings corresponding to the new memory state, and write, to the plurality of registers, the new set of settings. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2023Publication date: February 6, 2025Applicants: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., ATI Technologies ULCInventors: Nicholas Carmine DeFiore, Sridhar Varadharajulu Gada, James R. Patent number: 8727918Abstract: An illuminated game projectile with a cradled light source with an outer shell, a light source structure disposed within an open inner volume of the outer shell, and a cradle structure disposed within the open inner volume of the outer shell to retain the inner light source structure in a predetermined position. The outer shell can be spherical or puck or otherwise shaped. The cradle structure can be formed by walls disposed in a general X-shape relative to each hemispherical half of the outer shell to encircle the light source structure substantially entirely and retain the light source structure in a position substantially concentric with the outer shell. Where the outer shell is disk shaped, the cradle structure can be formed by a plurality of radially communicating cradling fins.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2012Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Inventor: Robert Gentile

Patent number: 8727919Abstract: An illuminated game projectile with external switch access with a casing, a light source structure within the casing, and an actuating rod or other mechanism for actuating an actuation mechanism of the light source structure from external to the casing. The game projectile casing can be spherical, and the actuation switch can be a depression switch. The actuating rod can have a first end adjacent to the exterior surface of the casing and a second end adjacent to the switch. The casing can alternatively be disk shaped as with a hockey puck or football shaped with first and second ends and a bulbous mid portion. With a puck shape, actuation can be effected by pressing on a face of the puck to press the switch. With a football shape, actuation can be effected by pressing on an end of the football to press the switch.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2012Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Inventor: Robert Gentile

Patent number: 7613928Abstract: A security method for preventing accidental or unauthorized writes to a flash memory. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a BIOS program stored in a flash memory array generates a random access code when executed by a processor. A check register stores the random access code and enables write operations to the flash memory array based upon an externally provided access code. In another embodiment, the BIOS program directs the processor to write the random access code to the check register to enable write operations in response to an external write request.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2005Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Assignee: Micron Technology, P.A.Inventor: Robert Gentile

Patent number: 6581987Abstract: A latching mechanism for selectively retaining a closure having a striker is provided that includes a housing forming a vertically extending groove for receiving the striker, first and second axles located on opposite sides of the groove, a striker spring located at the groove, a pawl pivotable about the first axle and defining a notch, and a ratchet pivotable about the second axle and defining a protrusion adapted to cooperate with the notch of the pawl to selectively retain the ratchet in a locked position. The ratchet defines a pocket for receiving the striker and retaining the striker in the groove when the ratchet is in the locked position. The housing is adapted to accept an over slam force from the striker at a bottom end of the groove. Preferably, the striker spring is substantially in-line with a path of the striker into the groove.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2000Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Dura Global Technologies, Inc.Inventors: William Robert Gentile, Jason Allen Beauchamp, Martin J. Publication number: 20020147941Abstract: A system and method for recovering a corrupted BIOS from a recovery server. A computer system performs a validity test on the BIOS at startup. If the BIOS fails the validity test, the computer system connects to a recovery server over a communications network, transmits its system information and downloads an uncorrupted version of its BIOS. The computer system then overwrites the corrupted BIOS with the uncorrupted BIOS.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2001Publication date: October 10, 2002Inventor: Robert Gentile

Patent number: 6401665Abstract: A tethered fetching, training, and play device for animals comprising an elongate tether, a target projectile, such as a ball, stick, or bone, coupled to a first end of the tether for acting as the target of an animal's attention, and an open inner volume within the target projectile for retaining an animal treat relative to the target projectile. A rotatable handle can be coupled to a second end of the tether to prevent twisting and tangling. The tether and the target projectile can be selectively retracted by a reel that could be spring-loaded or crank operated, and the tether and the target projectile can be selectively projected by a device that could be spring-loaded. One or more resilient members could be disposed at least partially across an entry aperture of the open inner volume to prevent a retained animal treat from becoming unintentionally dislodged.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2000Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Inventor: Robert Gentile

Patent number: 6322465Abstract: A ball pit ball for use in ball pits or seas of balls with desiccant for absorbing moisture from a surface of the ball pit ball and from neighboring surfaces. The ball pit ball has a generally spherical hollow outer shell defining an open inner volume with a volume of desiccant material, such as calcium chloride, in the open inner volume of the outer shell. The desiccant material can be liquid, such as calcium chloride brine, or solid and can comprise one or more desiccant materials in combination. A volume of chlorine may be further disposed in the open inner volume of the ball pit ball, possibly with a proportion of two parts chlorine to one part calcium chloride.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2000Date of Patent: November 27, 2001Inventor: Robert Gentile

Patent number: 6234923Abstract: A hockey blade for a hockey stick for striking a game projectile during hockey play. The preferred hockey blade has horizontal arcuate channels disposed on each of a first striking face and a second striking face of a projectile striking member whereby the striking faces of the hockey blade demonstrate improved control over a spherical game projectile. A plurality of vertical score lines may be disposed on one or both striking faces of the hockey blade. The upper and lower edges of the horizontal arcuate channels may be displaced from the upper and lower edges of their respective striking faces, and the vertical score lines may be located only in the horizontal arcuate channels.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1999Date of Patent: May 22, 2001Inventor: Robert Gentile
