    Abstract: An expandable introducer sheath with an interlock dilator. The present technology provides an expandable sheath with a step feature inside its distal opening, and a dilator with an interlock that includes a catch surface configured to engage with the step feature and resist further relative movement so that the body of the dilator is prevented from exiting the distal end of the expandable sheath. This interlocking engagement may allow the dilator to be used to extend and maintain tension on the expandable sheath during insertion into a patient, and then to be retracted from the expandable sheath by pulling the dilator in the opposite direction. The present technology also provides a dilator hub with a spring mechanism configured to achieve and maintain a desired tension on the expandable sheath and to prevent overextension of the expandable sheath when the dilator is being inserted into the expandable sheath.

    Abstract: An illuminated game projectile with a cradled light source with an outer shell, a light source structure disposed within an open inner volume of the outer shell, and a cradle structure disposed within the open inner volume of the outer shell to retain the inner light source structure in a predetermined position. The outer shell can be spherical or puck or otherwise shaped. The cradle structure can be formed by walls disposed in a general X-shape relative to each hemispherical half of the outer shell to encircle the light source structure substantially entirely and retain the light source structure in a position substantially concentric with the outer shell. Where the outer shell is disk shaped, the cradle structure can be formed by a plurality of radially communicating cradling fins.

    Abstract: An illuminated game projectile with external switch access with a casing, a light source structure within the casing, and an actuating rod or other mechanism for actuating an actuation mechanism of the light source structure from external to the casing. The game projectile casing can be spherical, and the actuation switch can be a depression switch. The actuating rod can have a first end adjacent to the exterior surface of the casing and a second end adjacent to the switch. The casing can alternatively be disk shaped as with a hockey puck or football shaped with first and second ends and a bulbous mid portion. With a puck shape, actuation can be effected by pressing on a face of the puck to press the switch. With a football shape, actuation can be effected by pressing on an end of the football to press the switch.

    Abstract: A latching mechanism for selectively retaining a closure having a striker is provided that includes a housing forming a vertically extending groove for receiving the striker, first and second axles located on opposite sides of the groove, a striker spring located at the groove, a pawl pivotable about the first axle and defining a notch, and a ratchet pivotable about the second axle and defining a protrusion adapted to cooperate with the notch of the pawl to selectively retain the ratchet in a locked position. The ratchet defines a pocket for receiving the striker and retaining the striker in the groove when the ratchet is in the locked position. The housing is adapted to accept an over slam force from the striker at a bottom end of the groove. Preferably, the striker spring is substantially in-line with a path of the striker into the groove.

The ball pit ball has a generally spherical hollow outer shell defining an open inner volume with a volume of desiccant material, such as calcium chloride, in the open inner volume of the outer shell. The desiccant material can be liquid, such as calcium chloride brine, or solid and can comprise one or more desiccant materials in combination. A volume of chlorine may be further disposed in the open inner volume of the ball pit ball, possibly with a proportion of two parts chlorine to one part calcium chloride.
