    Abstract: A copying machine comprises an electrostatographic surface, means to set the selected number of copies to be made by the apparatus, means to drive the surface a plurality of times successively from a charging station through an exposure station to a developing station, and means to render at least one of said stations inoperative for a period at the start of the copying run in order to allow all parts of the apparatus to reach operative condition.
