Abstract: The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for folding sheets (2), in particular printed sheets. A sheet (2) which is fed in a state in which it lies horizontally in a feed plane (7) is fed to at least two incipient-folding rollers (4) by a rectilinear knife (6), which can be moved perpendicularly to the feed plane (7), and is received between the incipient-folding rollers (4) in order to form a fold (8). The sheet is then conveyed away in the direction of the fold without being completely closed. The sheets are conveyed away by at least two removal rollers (5), by means of which the fold is also completed. The sheets are advantageously folded and conveyed away in one process step in the case of the invention, an additional opening step prior to the further processing of the sheet being dispensed with.

Abstract: An apparatus for winding or unwinding material webs onto or from a winding core (3) has a bearing device (5) and a drive device (9) for driving the winding core (3) that is rotatably mounted in the bearing device (5). The drive device (9) comprises a drive (10) and a torque-transmitting device (11) from the drive (10) to the winding core (3). In order to achieve the smallest possible winding-core diameter and, nonetheless, to achieve an adequate winding or unwinding speed, the torque-transmitting device (11) comprises a toothed-belt reduction gear mechanism (12).

Abstract: A folded, bound printed product comprising a plurality of printed subproducts is produced in that an initial product is printed sequentially in such a manner as to produce a series of printed subproducts which are to be arranged one after the other, the initial product has a weakening line or the printed subproducts are provided with a weakening line, and the printed subproducts are collated, folded and bound.
