  • Publication number: 20080305267
Abstract: An apparatus and method for depositing material on an array of substrates. The array of substrates may be moved past one or more sources of deposition material in a first rotational motion. The array of substrates may also be concurrently moved in a second rotational motion. The combination of the first and second rotational motions cause each of the substrates to move about its longitudinal axis without gears and bearings.

  • Publication number: 20080283477
Abstract: A merchandise security system includes a rail adapted to be secured to a first associated merchandising structure, which can be a shelf or a wire rack display. The rail includes a first longitudinally extending channel. At least one tile is mounted to the rail. The at least one tile extends away from the rail so as to approach a second associated merchandising structure spaced from the first associated merchandising structure. The at least one tile includes a protrusion which is accommodated in the first rail channel to enable a sliding movement of the tile in relation to the rail. • Publication number: 20080240371
Abstract: A system receives an emergency call, a local exchange carrier (LEC) charge number, and Calling Party Number (CPN) from a user device, and overrides the LEC charge number with the CPN for Automatic Number Identification (ANI) determination purposes. The system also determines the ANI of the user device based on the CPN, receives an address associated with the user device based on the ANI, and provides the emergency call and the address to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP).

  • Patent number: 7422007
Abstract: The invention is a combination of an actual person simulating the pitching motion and a pitching machine to throw the ball. A person when simulating pitching trips a switch and the ball is thrown by the pitching machine. The invention is a cylinder that fits within the inlet to the pitching machine. At the end of the cylinder is a ball stop which prevents the ball placed in the cylinder from entering the in pitching machine. A latch engages the spring loaded push bolt from pushing the ball out of the cylinder. A release arm extending from the latch is tripped allowing the push bolt to push the ball into the pitching machine by the operator during the release position of the wind up. In another embodiment the spring loaded push bolt is replaced with a solenoid and the release arm is replaced with an electric eye.

  • Publication number: 20080123994
Abstract: A method for creating an oblique-mosaic image from a plurality of source images is disclosed. Initially, a desired area to be imaged and collected into an oblique-mosaic image is identified and then a mathematical model of a sensor of a virtual camera is created, where the virtual camera has an elevation greater than an elevation of the area to be imaged. The mathematical model has an oblique-mosaic pixel map for the sensor of the desired area. A surface location is determined for each pixel included in the oblique mosaic pixel map, and at least one source oblique image pixel of the area to be imaged is reprojected for each pixel included in the oblique-mosaic pixel map to thereby create an oblique-mosaic image of the desired geographical area. The at least one single oblique-mosaic image is visually pleasing and geographically accurate. Further, techniques for compensating for building lean in oblique-mosaic images are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080079429
Abstract: A medical apparatus includes a medical assist device to process signals to relating biological functions. A first lead is operatively connected to the medical assist device, the first lead having a distal end and a proximal end. A second lead is operatively connected to the medical assist device, the second lead having a distal end and a proximal end. The first electrode is operatively connected to the distal end of the first lead, and a second electrode is operatively connected to the distal end of the second lead. A filter circuit is operatively connected near the distal end of the first lead and the distal end of the second lead. A compensation circuit, operatively connected to the first lead, provides a compensation voltage to enable the filter to effectively block changing magnetic fields induced current in the second lead from passing through the second electrode of the distal end of the second lead.

  • Publication number: 20080058913
Abstract: A voltage compensation unit reduces the effects of induced voltages upon a device having a single wire line. The single wire line has balanced characteristic impedance. The voltage compensation unit includes a tunable compensation circuit connected to the wire line. The tunable compensation circuit applies supplemental impedance to the wire line. The supplemental impedance causes the characteristic impedance of the wire line to become unbalanced, thereby reducing the effects of induced voltages caused by changing magnetic fields.

  • Publication number: 20070287115
Abstract: The present invention relates to melting plate candles which employ heat conductive elements to distribute heat from a burning flame at a wick to a support plate for a solid fuel and to the body of said solid fuel, so as to more rapidly liquefy the solid fuel, such as paraffin wax, and to more uniformly and intensely heat such fuels to increase the efficiency of consumption thereof and to more rapidly release volatile materials contained within said fuels. The heat conductive support plate is configured so as to have a capillary pedestal upon the surface thereof, which magnetically engages a wick holder comprising a preferably consumable wick and heat conductive fins which conduct heat from a flame upon said wick to said support plate, said magnetic engagement of said wick holder preventing accidental removal thereof from said pedestal. The fuel may be provided in various forms, configured to cooperatively engage said wick holder and support plate, and may comprise various volatile materials.

  • Patent number: 7282716
Abstract: A coherent radiation imaging system that produces digital images with a reduced amount of speckle. Radiation from a long coherence length source is used to form an image of a sample. The output coherent wave is temporally divided into a plurality of wavelets. The spatial phase of each wavelet is then modulated a known and different amount. Each phase modulated wavelet illuminates the sample and is perturbed by its interaction with the sample. A spatial phase map of each perturbed wavelet is then created and converted to a sample image with an image reconstruction program. The plurality of sample images thus formed is statistically averaged to form a final averaged image. The high frequency speckle that is not optically resolvable tends to average to zero with continual statistical averaging, leaving only the optically resolvable lower frequency phase information.

  • Patent number: 7236462
Abstract: A method for data exchange with a mobile asset wherein the communication link quality at the location of the mobile asset is measured at the time of the data transfer. The packet size for the data transfer is selected in response to the communication link quality. The current communication link quality measurement may be used alone or in combination with historical communication link quality data for selecting the data packet size. Communication link quality may be determined repeatedly and the packet size reset accordingly in response to changes in the link quality. A difference between the current communication link quality and historical link quality data may trigger appropriate corrective action, such as identifying the source of intentional or unintentional jamming.
