  • Patent number: 8904966
Abstract: Provided is an edible chew toy including a first toy member and a second toy member configured to be moveably engaged with each other. The first and second toy members may be configured to pivot and/or translate relative to each other to captivate a pet. In this regard, the toy members may move relative to each other as the pet gnaws on the toy, swipes at the toy with his paws, or lifts the toy in a manner to cause gravitational movement. The chew toy may be formed from 100% consumable material to allow the pet to easily digest the chew toy as it is chewed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 13, 2010
Date of Patent: December 9, 2014
    Assignee: Precision Pet Products
Inventors: Kevin L. Kolozsvari, Greg Leong, Jim McCafferty, Robert Guthrie

  • Patent number: 7862521
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for enabling the sensing of changes in pressure in response to uterine muscle tone changes relating to contractions, and for enabling the evaluation of contractions based thereon. The system enables a portion thereof to effectively and efficiently project at least partially below the non-compressed abdominal surface, and provides electrical isolation of the system elements. It enables ease of use and enhanced patient comfort. It also enables maximized sensitivity and minimized system loading retention pressure.

  • Publication number: 20060133428
Abstract: A method is presented for throttling data transmissions within a data processing system. Information about a data transfer from a server to a client is received within the application layer of a server, which stores the information about the data transfer along with information about a number of recent data transfers from the server to the client to create a sliding window of historical information about data transfers. The data transfer from the application layer of the server is delayed within the application layer of the server for an amount of time that is approximately equal to a computed delay time value in response to a determination that an average data transfer rate over the number of recent data transfers from the server to the client may exceed a data transfer rate threshold parameter.

  • Patent number: 6284549
Abstract: In a system and method for venting trapped gas from a reagent chamber in a reagent tube system and method, the system includes a valve insertion tool for inserting a valve in the tube so as to seal the chamber and enclose a reagent therein, and so as to vent trapped gas from the chamber. The system further includes a tube and valves comprised of materials for enabling momentary deflection of the valves for insertion in the tube. The tube and valve materials further enable the valve to remain in place to obstruct the flow of reagent from one chamber to the next upon insertion in the tube. They are further adapted to be readily displaceable with minimal focused force when separate dispensing or interaction and intermixing of the reagents is required for use thereof.

  • Patent number: 6003386
Abstract: A single, disposable differential transducer having a molded plastic body in which there is a pair of chambers separated by a strain gage electronic chip that flexes in accordance with the difference in the pressures between the two chambers. The plastic housing has inlets to allow communication with the chambers and the overall unit is readily manufactured of inexpensive components that allow disposability of the unit when it has been used on a patient. The pressure transducer chambers are isolasted from each other such that differing locations of the patient may be sensed for pressure at the same time without the risk of inadvertant cross-contamination.
