  • Patent number: 8833557
Abstract: A tool carrier including a base with an elongate vertical backboard body extending from a midline vertical axis of right and left walls of the base and is continuously disposed between first and second top sides of the base. A hinged lid completely separately covers each of the first top side and the second top side to secure items stored in compartments disposed within the base. Vertically oriented pockets on each of front and rear sides of the backboard body releasably secure hand tools therein. Each pocket has an open upper end, an open lower end, a strip member having a pair of spaced apart closed side walls, and a continuous opening between the strip member and the backboard body. The pockets include at least one standalone pocket and at least one row of the pockets. The pockets in each row of pockets are interconnected along the side walls.

  • Publication number: 20140111795
Abstract: To allow for the characterization of a passive optical network, reflectometry data is closely analyzed to determine reflection events within the data, and to subsequently characterize the reflection events so the status, operating parameters and efficiency of the network can be monitored. The reflectometry data is analyzed using statistical techniques to identify and analyze reflection events, which will ultimately allow meaningful reports to be generated which characterize the operation of the passive optical network. The reports can thus be provided to operators and/or installers to determine the health of the network, and whether any revisions are necessary.

  • Patent number: 6650665
Abstract: A mode controlling device for capturing a highly divergent, multi-mode laser beam received from a high-power broad area laser source and producing a narrow, single-mode laser beam. In one embodiment, the mode controlling device comprises a diffractive device having a nonplanar profile positioned to receive the multi-mode laser beam. The diffractive device comprises a plurality of grooves for receiving the multi-mode laser beam and diffracting light to a reflective medium, thereby creating feedback for producing a narrow, single-mode laser beam with a non-uniform intensity profile. The reflective medium may be positioned at the surface of the diffractive device; alternatively, the reflective medium may be positioned at a predetermined distance from the diffractive device.

  • Patent number: 6414973
Abstract: A device for generating blue or green laser light by the use of a device comprising an infrared high power semiconductor laser or an infrared high power semiconductor laser bar or array, a diffractive optical device, and an optical device utilizing a non-linear crystal to generate the blue or green laser light. In one embodiment, the diffractive optical device comprises a volume holographic transmission grating and the optical device comprises a ring resonator. In another embodiment, the diffractive optical device comprises a reflective diffraction grating feedback mechanism and the optical device comprises a ring resonator. In another embodiment, the optical device comprises a parabolic or non-planar feedback mechanism and a ring resonator. In another embodiment, the diffractive optical feedback device, which can be in the form of digital/binary optics, is attached to the semiconductor laser source.
