Patent number: 9306607Abstract: Embodiments of a wideband interference mitigation (IM) system with negative group delay (NGD) compensation and method for wideband interference cancellation are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the wideband IM system may include first frequency-selective circuitry to capture interfering signals within a bandwidth of interest from a primary signal path after removal of a desired signal, cancellation circuitry to implement a negative group delay (NGD) on output signals from the first frequency-selective circuitry to generate negative group-delayed signals, and second frequency-selective circuitry to generate interference cancellation signals from the negative group-delayed signals for combining with signals from the primary signal path.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2013Date of Patent: April 5, 2016Assignee: Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp.Inventors: Robert Gyorgy Egri, Jonathan P. Comeau

Patent number: 9191261Abstract: An encoder can convert a stream of data into three or four synchronized 4-PSK signals, for 64-QAM and 256-QAM, respectively. Three or four mixers can combine the three or four synchronized PSK signals with a common local oscillator signal to form three or four respective amplifiable signals, which can all have the same amplitude. One amplifier receives a first of the amplifiable signals and powers one radiator. Two amplifiers both receive a second of amplifiable signals and power two respective radiators. Four amplifiers receive a third of the amplifiable signals and power four respective radiators. The amplifiers can all operate in near or full saturation. Each radiator radiates in one of a plurality of discrete, specified states. The radiated states from the radiators combine through far-field electromagnetic propagation and effectively sum at the receiver to mimic transmission from a single amplifier.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2014Date of Patent: November 17, 2015Assignee: Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp.Inventor: Robert Gyorgy Egri

Patent number: 7885355Abstract: The present invention is a system and a method of filtering a signal at a receiver, the signal having at least a desired channel and blockers. A first converter converts a first copy of the signal resulting in a relatively narrow band, high-resolution first signal. A second converter converts a second copy of the signal resulting in a relatively wide band, low-resolution second signal. Once each copy of the signal is converted, the copies are passed to a combiner. At the combiner, the two copies of the signal are analyzed and the desired channel is extracted from the first copy of the signal by removing any inter-modulation product caused by any interference detected in the second copy from the blockers (not detected in the first copy).Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2007Date of Patent: February 8, 2011Assignee: Cobham Defense Electronic CorpInventors: Laurent Claude Perraud, Robert Gyorgy Egri

Patent number: 7489265Abstract: A process of determining target parameters of an object within a field of detection of an automotive radar system, the process comprising the steps of: (a) establishing a target range from a sequence of ranges; (b) dwelling on the target range for an initial dwell time to obtain sensor data; (c) determining if the sensor data corresponds to the presence of an object or to the absence of an object at the target range based on probability density distributions of an object being present and being absent at the target range, and if such the determination cannot be made, then repeating steps (b)-(c) until the determination can be made; (d) if the sensor data is determined to correspond to the presence of an object in step (c), then dwelling at the target range for an extended dwell time to obtain additional sensor data for determining the target parameters of the object before proceeding to step (e); and (e) establishing the next of the sequence of ranges as the target range before reiterating steps (b)-(e).Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2005Date of Patent: February 10, 2009Assignee: Autoliv ASP, Inc.Inventors: Robert Gyorgy Egri, Michael John Paradie, Shuangqing Wei

Patent number: 6107692Abstract: A system for powering at least one of electronic devices or a battery includes a pneumatic supply source and an accumulator for storing a collected amount of the pneumatic supply. A pneumatically powered generator is connected to the accumulator for generating power upon receipt of the pneumatic supply. The generator is further connected to at least one electronic device and a battery. A microprocessor controls a storage amount of pneumatic supply within the accumulator, determines an output of the pneumatic supply to the generator, and applies an electrical output of the generator to at least one electronic device, a battery, or both an electronic device and a battery. The pneumatically powered generator is an electromagnetic generator having a rotor cavity separated by a wall of the generator housing from a stator and related magnetic disc.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1998Date of Patent: August 22, 2000Assignee: The Whitaker CorporationInventors: Robert Gyorgy Egri, Kenneth Foster Folk, Michael Fredrick Laub
