  • Patent number: 5434405
Abstract: A financial transaction card adapted for individual use in reading information stored externally to the card, having machine readable information contained thereon identifying the user and the issuing institution for transacting business at locations remote from the issuing institution, includes:a. a rigid substantially rectangular base comprising a substantially transparent material and having a top surface and a bottom surface;b. machine readable information carried on the base for identifying the user and the issuing institution; andc. a magnifying lens produced by formation of fresnel contour lines on the top surface of the base and in non-interfering relationship with the machine readable information.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 16, 1994
Date of Patent: July 18, 1995

  • Patent number: 4933809
Abstract: A modular assembly of diverse electrical components for operation of an outboard motor including a box in which the components are inserted and/or mounted and prewired. External leads are organized for passage through a few specially located openings in the box for external connection. The fully assembled and prewired assembly is enclosed with a demountable cover and attached directly to the engine block. The modular assembly alleviates indiscriminate component mounting and corresponding disarray of interconnecting lead wires. In addition the moisture and corrosion resistance of the components is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 4911398
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting an outboard trolling motor to a boat for movement of the motor between a horizontal stowed position and a vertical operating position includes a track-mounted carriage which supports the motor for reciprocal movement along a horizontal boat surface, such as a deck, and a pivoting mechanism at the end of the track to tilt the motor and its mounting to a vertical operating position. The pivotal mechanism may comprise a curved track section coextensive with the horizontal track, or a split carriage mechanism in which the motor mounting portion is pivotable with respect to the track engaging carriage portion through the operation of a rack and pinion mechanism at the end of the track.

  • Patent number: 4875656
Abstract: The manual operating cord for a deck-mounted electric trolling motor includes a handle which is demountably attachable to an arm of the pivotal motor support apparatus when the motor is in the operative or stowed position. The demountable handle assures that the operating cord will always be readily accesible to the operator in the boat to either raise the motor from its operative position or lower it thereto from its stowed position on the deck. The handle is demountably secured to one of the pivot arms of the motor support apparatus by frictional engagement between the legs of an elongated U-shaped slot in the handle and the lateral faces of the pivot arm.

  • Patent number: 4723927
Abstract: A cowl (2) is provided for a marine drive outboard engine (4). A front shield (26) covers a front throat (24) of the cowl for receiving combustion air and defines an input air path flowing rearwardly (28), then forwardly (30), then rearwardly (32) into the throat. Side scoops (52, 54, 60, 62) receive air flowing rearwardly and direct same interiorly of the cowl. Separators (68, 72) on the inner surfaces of the left and right sides (20, 22) of the cowl separate water from the incoming fresh air, and have upper vent openings (70, 74) allowing separated air to escape into the interior of the cowl. Upper vent openings (76, 78) in the top (16) of the cowl communicate with the upper vent openings (70, 74) in the separators (68, 72) to allow hot air to escape. The rear (18) of the cowl includes one or more discharge openings (80, 82) communicating with the bottom of the separators (68, 72) to allow water to escape.
