  • Patent number: 5485779
Abstract: A manually operable device for metering air through a valve system for drawing into, retaining and evacuating material from a chamber having a first air passageway operatively connected to the chamber and exposed to the atmosphere for transporting the material, a second air passageway operatively connected to the chamber, an oscillating air source for moving air within the second air passageway and a valve mechanism operatively connected to the second air passageway which when in a first position upon actuation of the oscillating air source moves air creating a partial vacuum within the chamber causing material to be drawn into the chamber, and when in a second position upon actuation of the oscillating air source causes air to be introduced under positive pressure into the chamber evacuating the material from the chamber into the first conveying mechanism and a third air passageway coupled to the valve assembly which allows the second air passageway to vent to the environment.

  • Patent number: 4526364
Abstract: A sheet material feeding mechanism for use in a duplex duplicating machine. A pressure roller extends laterally across a sheet path for engaging the blank side of a previously imaged copy sheet. A feed roller assembly forms a nip with the pressure roller through which the sheet is fed. The feed roller assembly includes a pair of feed rollers mounted on the outside of a pair of support members for positioning the feed rollers near the marginal edges of the sheet to preclude tracking the imaged side of the sheet. The feed rollers are axially adjustable for accommodating different sheet sizes.

  • Patent number: 4015523
Abstract: A document feeding apparatus sequentially feeding documents, including an automatic feeder for removing one document at a time from a stack and for delivering each document to a feed path. An endless conveyor moves each document along the path towards a document aligning gate means that temporarily interrupts the movement of the documents to effect desired alignment thereof. The automatic feeder and the document aligning gate are automatically controlled so that the documents are selectively removed from the stack as a function of the preceding document moving along the path. A pair of printing heads are positioned along the path and are respectively actuated in response to movement of the documents so that the documents can be printed at accurately positioned locations on a surface thereof.
