  • Patent number: 6805220
Abstract: A system for securing a worker to an elevated structure includes a flexible anchor line extendable across the structure, hooks at opposite ends of the flexible anchor line for engaging the structure, and a line storage device for releasably storing a portion of the flexible anchor line to adjust the length of line and tension the line to bring the hooks into anchoring engagement with the structure and secure the anchor line to the structure. One end of a restraining line is releasably connectable to the flexible anchor line. The opposite end of the restraining line is connected to a harness wearable by the worker. The system is a lightweight and reliable apparatus that is easily transported and operated by a worker to secure the worker to an elevated structure such as a cargo container in order to conduct work in safety.

  • Patent number: 5894699
Abstract: A crypt system comprising a front frame, a rear frame and a plurality of cells received between the front and rear frames, inclined longitudinally to form a column of cells. Drain and ventilation headers communicate with each cell and an attachment system for joining adjacent columns to each other is provided. The front frame comprises horizontal and vertical members that are spaced to be a close fit on the cells. Each cell is independently sealable by a sealing panel that is attached over the open front end of the cell. A plurality of discrete facing panels are mountable to the front frame of the crypt by way of rectangular section posts extending outwardly from the vertical members at predetermined intervals to abut angled corners of the facing panels and retaining members that hold the angled corners of the facing panels. The structure of the present invention provides a crypt structure that does not suffer from the maintenance problems of existing mausoleums.

  • Patent number: 5335540
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a physical quantity, property or condition and for transmitting a code representing the measured physical quantity, property or condition. The method includes the steps of developing a first signal in response to a physical quantity, property or condition, sampling the first signal to produce an instantaneous first signal value, assigning a first code to the instantaneous first signal value, and transmitting the first code for reception by a receiver. The method and apparatus are explained in connection with a vehicle tire monitoring apparatus wherein plurality of tire units measure tire pressures and temperatures and transmit values representing pressure and temperature to a central receiver located in a cab portion of the vehicle.
