  • Patent number: 6859977
Abstract: A security closure assembly for a door or a window in an opening of a building for preventing unauthorized access therethrough when in a secured position and for allowing ingress to and egress from the building when in an open position is provided. The security closure assembly includes a jamb having an outwardly facing surface and a jamb flange protruding outwardly from the outwardly facing surface of the jamb. The security closure assembly also includes a frame which fits within said jamb with a space defined between the frame and the jamb. A protrusion extends from the frame which overlays the space defined between the frame and the jamb. The protrusion has a channel which surrounds the jamb flange when the frame is in the secured position.

  • Patent number: 6079475
Abstract: A security screen with a main frame having radial sections which interconnect with radial sections of a subframe when the screen is closed to strengthen the screen and increase its resistance to displacement due to sustained or impact loads. Brackets attached to the radial sections of the main frame have pins aligned to fit into holes in the radial sections of the subframe when the screen is closed. The brackets and pins serve to prevent the radial section of the main frame from bending inward under a force applied to the screen cloth by effectively combining the strength and rigidity of the main frame and subframe. Thus, the force required to displace the screen cloth a given distance is increased. The increase in strength and rigidity is accomplished without increasing the dimensions of the screen or its supporting structure. Also, the brackets serve to inhibit the security screen from being pried open. Other means to interconnect sections of the main frame and subframe are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5953860
Abstract: A security screen assembly installable in the jamb of a building window or door for preventing unauthorized access therethrough, while allowing for quick and easy egress, is provided. The security screen assembly includes a screen with a height, a width and side edges, and a frame which is dimensioned to fit within the jamb of a building, and which is attachable to the jamb. The frame defines an opening having a height substantially equal to the height of the screen and having a width which is less than the width of the screen. A channel is formed on a rear surface of the frame surrounding the opening. The channel accommodates the screen such that the channel prevents the screen from being swung inward.

  • Patent number: 4537522
Abstract: A fluid applicator includes a fluid applicator roller engaged with a fluid dispersing roller. The fluid dispersing roller includes a pair of helical fluid dispersing troughs which receive fluid from an electric motor driven pump which is operated by a low voltage electric switch control located on a handle of the fluid applicator.

  • Patent number: 4446653
Abstract: A device for supporting a hanging plant and for slowly rotating it to expose different sides to sunlight. The device comprises a cord for attachment at one end to a hook or other fixed object and for attachment at the opposite end to the plant. The cord extends in length and winds in one direction in response to an increase in the weight of the plant by feeding of water and contracts and winds slowly in an opposite direction as the water evaporates from the plant.

  • Patent number: 4064721
Abstract: A security locking device for dead-bolt door locks which is distinguished by a shroud that encompasses and grips the dead-bolt actuator at the inside of the door, and is rotatably mounted in a base secured to the inner face of the door, with a handle portion on the shroud exposed to enable the shroud -- and hence the dead-bolt actuator -- to be manually turned. A spring biased security bolt slidably mounted in the base engages a cylindrical side surface of the shroud and snaps into a keeper recess in that surface when the shroud is turned to the position at which the dead-bolt is in its projected door-locking position. A manually rotatable cylinder with an eccentric lug at its inner end to engage one or the other of a pair of opposing shoulders on the security bolt is mounted in the base and operable from inside the door to enable retraction of the security bolt and to selectively hold the security bolt in either its projected operative position or its retracted inoperative position.
