  • Patent number: 7000950
Abstract: A filler neck for a fuel tank used on busses achieves higher filling rates by varying the geometry and cross sectional size of the filler neck depending on local slope of the neck and available space to fit the neck, particularly between a bus chassis frame rail and the bus body floor.

  • Patent number: 6799562
Abstract: Each of two fuel tanks is disposed at a respective side of a chassis of a motor vehicle and has a respective sender for indicating the level of liquid fuel in the respective tank. A pump draws fuel from the tanks through a respective fuel draw conduit. Excess fuel is returned to each tank through a respective fuel return conduit. When the senders indicate an imbalance of fuel between the two tanks, a valve mechanism controlled by the senders disallows return fuel flow to the tank whose sender indicates that the level of fuel is greater than that indicated by the sender of the other tank by some defined amount while the pump continues to draw fuel from both tanks through the fuel draw conduits.

  • Patent number: 6272904
Abstract: An apparatus for operator controlled purging of the tanks of a pressurized air reservoir of a vehicle air system comprises an air actuated normally closed drain valve mounted to an underside of each tank, a source of pressurized air engaged to each drain valve, and a controller for each valve engaged downstream of the source, and within a driver area of the vehicle, the controller when activated, allowing for communication between the source and the drain valve for opening of the valve. The method for using the apparatus in testing air system integrity includes the steps of draining and refilling each tank individually in a pre-defined sequence while monitoring driver area mounted indicators of air pressure levels and testing functionality of an air system operated service brake system of the vehicle by carrying out the pre-defined sequence.

  • Patent number: 5632457
Abstract: An adjustable routing clamp assembly capable of accommodating engagement of various size or numbers of elongated members in a bundle, the clamp assembly including an extension element to be attached to a vehicle frame having a plurality of slots spaced thereon and a tie strap engaged to the extension at a first slot on one side of the bundle and disposed to wrap around the bundle and engage the extension at a second slot displaced from the first slot by the width of the bundle, thus clamping the bundle against the extension element, with a toothed keeper element used to maintain the strap in engagement with the bundle and extension element, thereby accommodating engagement of various size or numbers of elongated members in a bundle by using different slots along the extension element.

  • Patent number: 5308033
Abstract: A routing clamp for attaching tubes, hoses, wire harnesses and the like to a vehicle frame comprises an elongate section of spring steel having a center portion and a flange engaging end which is bent back outwardly over the body portion to engage a frame rail flange of a vehicle, such as a truck, and to also engage the web portion of the frame rail. The other end of the section is folded inwardly to create a structure engaging loop within which the tubes, hoses or harnesses may rest. For convenience in opening the structure engaging loop, a terminal finger loop is provided.
