  • Patent number: 7945636
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a multi-tier enterprise level application. In particular, the present invention relates to systems and methods for providing an architecture and interface for delivering customizable music and advertisements to remote retail locations. A client player computer device is located at the retail location and a server system is located at a remote location. The server system selectively provides broadcast information when an active contract, an active advertisement, and an active schedule are available. The client player computer device establishes a contact with a server at a predetermined time or upon request by the server or another source. The client player computer device executes a broadcast or program schedule that includes music content and advertisements, wherein the advertisements have been purchased as blocks of time by entities and are scheduled to be broadcast at particular times.

  • Publication number: 20100108081
Abstract: A filtered cigarette includes a smokable rod and a filter element. The smokable rod is secured to the filter element using tipping material. The tipping material includes at least one flavorant providing a sensory characteristic. The cigarette may include more than one layer of tipping material. An outer layer of tipping material can overlie at least a portion of an underlying inner layer of tipping material, and during use by the smoker, the outer layer can be removed from the cigarette. Thus, it is possible for a cigarette manufacturer to provide a cigarette that can be used as such by the smoker, or that can be adapted by the smoker to provide a different sensory experience (e.g., the visual, organoleptic, trigeminal, aromatic, and tactile characteristics of the cigarette can be altered by removal of the outer tipping material, and or by provision of a tipping material layer that is treated with a flavorant and/or provides a desirable diffusivity).

  • Patent number: 4920990
Abstract: Cigarettes have a smokable filler blend comprising 60 to 75 percent tobacco cut filler and 25 to 40 percent of a second smokable cut filler consisting essentially of 50 to 70 percent calcium carbonate, 15 to 45 percent pyrolyzed cotton linters, and 7 to 12 percent polysaccharide binder. The blend is contained in a paper wrapper having a permeability from about 40 to about 75 CORESTA units. Cigarettes normally include a filter element and are air diluted to an air dilution level of from 40 to 65 percent. The smokable blend preferably is blended with a tobacco essence, and the nicotine content of the blend is greater than 2 percent. Cigarettes exhibit resistances to draw between 80 and 150 mm water pressure drop at 17.5 cc/sec. air flow. Cigarettes exhibit FTC "tar" to nicotine ratios less than 9.
