  • Patent number: 4378733
Abstract: An automatic embossing system, having punch and die wheels respectively carrying axially aligned associated punches and dies disposed about their perimeters, is provided with an improved drive mechanism for actuation of a desired punch and die pair to emboss a card disposed therebetween. The drive mechanism includes a pair of bail arms driven in continuous oscillation by a uniquely shaped cam, each bail arm carrying an adjustably mounted solenoid actuated interposer. By firing the solenoid, the interposers are disposed between driving surfaces of the respectively associated bail arms so as to engage the driving ends of the punch and die pair. The interposer structures are independently adjustable, thereby permitting ease of adjustment of the height of embossed characters formed in the card.

  • Patent number: 4254759
Abstract: An automatic damper means and controls, which provide an exceedingly safe automatic damper for the exhaust duct-work of an associated gas furnace or the like, by automatic control of the damper, and automatic control of the gas supply, with redundancy features for providing exceedingly safe operation.

  • Patent number: 4215300
Abstract: A closed loop, error correcting serial input positioning system for varying, at a controlled incremental rate, the angular position of the shaft of a motor in dependance upon train of input command pulses. By utilizing the system in accordance with the present invention, both the speed and position of the motor shaft are controlled.

  • Patent number: 4106214
Abstract: A heat reclaimer for use with a gas clothes dryer of the type including a rotary drum. The dryer includes a housing in the upper portion of which is a gas burner chamber. The heat generated in the gas burner is moved downwardly through the rotary drum by a blower mounted in the lower portion of the housing then out a discharge stack. The heat reclaimer includes a downwardly open conduit located centrally in the stack and recirculating a portion of the air from the stack back into the gas burner chamber, on the opposite side of the burner and on the downstream side of the heated air passage from the burner to the clothes dryer. An inverted deflector cone is mounted at the lower end of the conduit. The discharge stack has an enlarged diameter at the portion of the stack which contains the conduit. The junction of the conduit and the gas burner chamber is in the form of a long narrow slot to better mix the recirculating air with the air in the gas burner chamber.

  • Patent number: 4088943
Abstract: A brushless tachometer utilizing four stator windings and series connected field effect transistor commutation switches to provide an input to a summing amplifier. Connection of the field effect transistor switches to the summing junction of the amplifier and use of series resistance and back-to-back clamping diodes on the winding side of the field effect transistors permits commutation switching with a minimum of transient voltage changes due to interruption of the stator winding current.

  • Patent number: 3989992
Abstract: A pulse width modulated motor control system in which the power supplies for forward and reverse operation for the motor are provided to supply electric energy at different levels. The control signals for the motor are provided in such a manner that the average energy of unbalanced pulse periods is the same, but the potential level differs by a substantial amount. Energy storage may be provided for in conjunction with the lesser of the two power supplies to assist in a rapid reversal, stop or shaft positioning of the motor.
