Patent number: 7121514Abstract: A mount is fixed to the floor of a vehicle, and supports a computer/display unit by means of an indexing cylinder assembly. The computer/display unit can be rotated horizontally in steps about the indexing cylinder assembly so that it can be easily positioned for use by the driver or the passenger in the vehicle. The computer/display unit can be adjusted vertically to suit the needs of the user while not interfering with the user's ability to see the road. The indexing cylinder may be mounted on either side of an upright member so as to provide selection of left or right positioning of the computer equipment. A bearing rod runs up the side of a computer equipment holding frame, and can be used to adjust the pressure point on the dashboard, thereby providing stabilization of the computer equipment.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2003Date of Patent: October 17, 2006Assignee: Datalux CorporationInventor: Robert H. Patent number: 7093545Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a data device which is mountable on the steering wheel of a vehicle. The device for mounting the data device on the steering wheel of the vehicle comprises a T-shaped arrangement including a member or members extending perpendicularly from the periphery of a frame of the data device, and connected to a further member disposed horizontally and in parallel with the periphery of the frame, that is, parallel to the width of the data device. As a result, the occupant of a vehicle is provided with the capability of quickly mounting the data device on, and quickly dismounting the data device from, the steering wheel of the vehicle. The data device is mounted on the steering wheel in such a manner as to provide for stability of the data device during its use.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2003Date of Patent: August 22, 2006Assignee: Datalux CorporationInventor: Robert H. Patent number: 6386413Abstract: An apparatus and a method for mounting a computer system in a vehicle provides for rigid mounting of a computer/display unit in the vehicle so as to reduce or eliminate the adverse effects of vibration caused by operation of the vehicle. The latter advantage is achieved by provision of a gas spring and crank arm arrangement connected to an L-bar, the latter being mounted via its lower, horizontal member to a base plate of the vehicle. The apparatus and method also provide superior flexibility in orientation of the keyboard for use by any occupant of the front of the vehicle. The latter advantage is achieved by mounting the keyboard to the L-bar via a rigid arm having two points of rotation, one point of rotation at its point of connection to the L-bar, and another point of rotation at its point of connection to the keyboard.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2000Date of Patent: May 14, 2002Assignee: Datalux CorporationInventor: Robert H. Patent number: 5304195Abstract: A pusher-vasoocclusive coil assembly that is advanced through a catheter to a site within a vessel and is manipulated to detach the coil from the assembly. The coil has an affixed, proximally-extending wire that carries a ball on its proximal end and the pusher has an affixed, distally-extending wire that carries a ball on its distal end. The pusher and coil are coupled by placing the wires and balls in an overlapping interlocked position and enclosing the coupled assembly with a coaxial sleeve. The coil-pusher-sleeve assembly is positioned at the site and the sleeve is retracted to allow the balls to move radially relative to one another to disengage and uncouple the pusher and coil.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1993Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Assignee: Target Therapeutics, Inc.Inventors: Robert H. Twyford, Jr., Erik T. Engelson, Uriel H. Chee, Michael J. Mariant

Patent number: 5109867Abstract: An extendable guidewire assembly comprising: a guidewire whose proximal end carries a first axial interlocking member; and extension wire whose distal end carries (i) a second axial interlocking member that is adapted to overlap and axially interlock with the first member and (ii) a retractable sleeve that is retracted to permit the interlocking members to be interlocked and extended to enclose the interlocked members to maintain their interlocked relationship.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 1991Date of Patent: May 5, 1992Assignee: Target TherapeuticsInventor: Robert H. Patent number: 4600819Abstract: A switch assembly particularly suitable for electrical keyboard applications includes a pair of wire conducting members disposed in substantially collinear relationship on a supporting base and defining a pair of switch contact surfaces disposed radially outward from the circumference of the wire conducting members. In one embodiment, surrounding the exterior of the collinearly disposed wire conducting members, and spaced from and in facing relationship with the contact surfaces thereof, lies a cylindrical or tubular contactor member. The contactor member may include a closely-wound electrically conductive wire. The contactor member is supported in spaced apart position by a resilient sealing tube which encloses the end portions, including the contact surfaces, of the wire conducting members. A spring biased actuating force is provided to move the sealing tube and contactor member into engagement with the contact surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1985Date of Patent: July 15, 1986Assignee: Mechanical Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Robert H. Twyford

Patent number: 4433317Abstract: A miniaturized switch particularly suitable for electronic keyboard control applications has a pair of contact members providing spaced contacts, a conductive floating contactor disposed in the space between such contacts adapted to engage both of the contacts to close the switch, a resilient sleeve enclosing the contacts and the space therebetween to encircle the contactor, and actuator means to displace the contactor within the sleeve relative to the contacts to effect closing of the switch.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1982Date of Patent: February 21, 1984Assignee: Mechanical Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Robert H. Patent number: 4203016Abstract: A miniaturized electric switch particularly suitable for electronic keyboard control applications includes at least one coil spring having a laterally extending coil spring end contact where spring compression biases the switch toward an unoperated condition and spring torsion urges the end contact relative to a second contact and a switch housing mounted cam engages the coil spring end contact incident operation of the switch between operated and unoperated conditions to urge the end contact relative to the second contact.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1978Date of Patent: May 13, 1980Assignee: Mechanical Enterprises, IncorporatedInventor: Robert H. Patent number: 4004121Abstract: An electric switch especially adapted for use in a variety of keyboard applications includes an elongated and generally straight wire beam spring which is fixedly supported at its ends in the switch housing with a center portion free to be flexed relative to the ends of the spring. The normal position of the wire beam spring has the center portion spaced from a pair of spaced contacts and an actuator mounted on the switch housing is depressed to flex this center portion from its normal position into engagement with the contacts and thereby close an electric circuit between such contacts.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1974Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: Mechanical Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Robert H.
