  • Patent number: 8910780
Abstract: The present invention reveals a method of manufacturing a fabric reinforcement having improved peel adhesion characteristics which is of particular value in reinforcing endless belts, wherein at least two layers of fabric material are embedded in the fabric reinforcement, said process comprising (1) impregnating a fabric material with a bonding agent in a plastisol to form coated fabric material, (2) applying a plastisol layer between two or more layers of coated fabric thereby creating a belt carcass, (3) continuously feeding the belt carcass into a double belt press which presses the impregnated fabric materials together with the plastisol layer(s) at a pressure of at least 5 psi to produce a preformed fabric carcass while (4) heating the preformed fabric carcass to a temperature which is within the range of 360° F. to 450° F. for a period of at least 6 minutes, and (5) continuously withdrawing the fabric carcass from the press.

  • Patent number: 8752591
Abstract: The flexible hose of the present invention is crush resistant, burst resistant, and virtually impossible to kink in normal use and is applicable to hoses that are designed for delivering virtually any kind of fluid including water, organic liquids, aqueous based herbicides, aqueous based insecticides, industrial chemicals, beverages, air, industrial gases, vacuum, and the like. The hose design of the present invention is particularly applicable to garden hoses for the delivery of water. In fact, garden hoses having the construction of the present invention are highly resistant to kinking and almost never kink when being used in conventional lawn, garden, and cleaning applications.

  • Publication number: 20100071795
Abstract: A flexible hose construction with enhanced levels of kink, crush, and burst resistance. The hose includes an inner tubular member, an outer tubular member, a yarn layer disposed between the inner and outer tubular members, and a plurality of reinforcement strips within the outer tubular member. The reinforcement strips are helically wound with a given pitch about the lumen of the tubular member. The outer tubular member is composed of a first compound containing an olefin block copolymer and a styrene/ethylene-butylene/styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer. The reinforcement strips are composed of a second compound containing a thermoplastic elastomer and a polypropylene homopolymer.

  • Patent number: 4775564
Abstract: A molded extensible-collapsible container having a series of flutes, in the generic sense, in its side to permit the container when subjected to an external force to move to a collapsed position or to the extended position when preferably the yield point of the plastic is no greater than about 5% and it has an ASTM modulus of elasticity greater than about (6.895.times.10.sup.8 pascals) and less than about (2.758.times.10.sup.9 pascals) and preferably about (1.034.times.10.sup.9 pascals to 2.069.times.10.sup.9 pascals). The plastic of the blow molded container can be a blow moldable polyester of less than 5% elongation at yield with polyethylene terephthalate being most preferred.

  • Patent number: 4412965
Abstract: A method of making an air spring comprising spreading a fabric around a core having the shape of said air spring, anchoring edges of said fabric in overlap area to the core to form a reinforcing member thereon, placing the core having the reinforcing member thereon in a mold, closing said mold, injecting an elastomeric precursor into the mold and curing to form said air spring.
