  • Patent number: 8460479
Abstract: A door assembly and associated components for a dishwashing appliance are provided, wherein the dishwashing appliance includes a tub portion defining a forward access opening. The door assembly is pivotably engaged with the tub portion and cooperates therewith to cover the forward access opening. The door assembly includes an integrally formed and structurally reinforced inner door member, without a separate reinforcement panel. The inner door member includes at least one reinforcing member integrally formed therewith and along a contour thereof so as to provide reinforcement thereof. The dishwashing appliance further includes a covering member configured to encompass a wiring arrangement associated with the inner door member, for protecting the wiring arrangement within the dishwashing appliance. Associated apparatuses and methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8118947
Abstract: A sealing device for a dishwasher is provided, comprising at least one flange member. Each flange member is adapted to interact with at least one of a gasket member, a tub portion, and a door member. Each flange member is configured to extend along at least one opposing side of a front opening of the tub portion. Each flange member is cantilevered so as to extend between each opposing side of the front opening of the tub portion and the door member, upon closing thereof, so as to deflect washing fluid within the tub portion away from the gasket member forming a seal between the door member and the tub portion. An associated apparatus and method are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7410520
Abstract: A method for packaging, shipping, displaying and positioning a foldable filter having a hinge into an air filtration unit wherein the foldable filter is pivotable about the hinge between a collapsed position and an expanded position. The method includes the steps of positioning the foldable filter in the collapsed position, inserting the collapsed foldable filter into a package, shipping the collapsed foldable filter within the package to a store, positioning the packaged foldable filter for display at the store, removing the foldable filter from the package, moving the foldable filter to the expanded position and positioning the foldable filter into the air filtration unit. The foldable filter includes first and second frame sections connected by the hinge and pleated filter material that includes at least one pleat edge extending generally parallel to a hinge axis. The hinge is formed at least partially by a portion of the at least one pleat edge.
