  • Publication number: 20100169355
Abstract: Data is combined from multiple independent data stores, and is then queried using a data correlation engine. Contemplated engines preferably keep track of previously run correlations, and then makes those correlations available to clinicians for their own use. For example, a preferred system might provide a listing of correlations run by other clinicians in a particular medical specialty, or a particular community, whether geographic or otherwise. In another example, a preferred system might provide a listing of correlations sorted by popularity, so that the most frequently accessed correlations appear near the top of the list. In any case a clinician could simply view the list, and check off which correlations he/she would like to have run for his/her practice, or practice community.

  • Publication number: 20100036679
Abstract: A hub-spoke patient information service in which a patient's data can be obtained from a network of independent data sources through a centralized service. The hub of the service stores patient identification information and the spokes store the patient's clinical data. In a preferred embodiment, the spokes are independent sources (e.g. each spoke is generally unrelated to other spokes) and include hospitals, doctor offices, clinics, insurance companies, or other entities that store or track clinical data. Preferably, the data sources use a first authentication to properly identify or authentic the service. Once access is granted, the spoke sources are queried for the patient's data. In response, each data source provides the type of patient data available from the source. The user is shown the types of data available without generally showing the actual data. The user can then select the specific patient data to retrieve from the spoke sources.

  • Patent number: 7063238
Abstract: A cartridge ejector mechanism for a beverage dispensing machine comprises a cartridge holder sized to receive a beverage cartridge. The cartridge holder is coupled to the beverage dispensing machine and the cartridge holder is movable between a cartridge loading position and a beverage dispensing position. A cartridge ejector is coupled to the beverage dispensing machine. The cartridge ejector is responsive to movement of the cartridge holder from the beverage dispensing position to the cartridge loading position. Interaction between the cartridge ejector and the beverage cartridge when the cartridge holder is being moved from the beverage dispensing position towards the cartridge loading position causes the beverage cartridge to be removed from the cartridge holder.

  • Publication number: 20060074952
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention relates generally to computer configuration and, more specifically, to a system and method to seamlessly determine the component configurations of a series of heterogeneous platforms and enable their respective component configurations to be intelligently migrated from one platform to another. In some embodiments, the invention involves generating configuration binaries for a plurality of target platforms. The configuration binaries are used with tools to create configuration directives for the target machines. In at least one embodiment, the configuration directives are sent to the target platforms in a scripting language. In some embodiments, the scripts are automatically generated by a tool using the configuration binaries for various platforms and policy guidance to determine which settings should be set on or off. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20050144428
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a system and method relating to seamlessly enable enhanced management and scripting of a computer system and its add-in devices. In at least one embodiment, the present invention enables a system administrator or integrator to script a common configuration for multiple devices and then automatically configure the devices using the script. The language construct and central data repository for configuration settings are extended to comprehend a scripting language. A script is read by a script engine during either pre-boot or runtime. The script engine searches a keyword database on the central data repository to determine requested configuration settings. A data offset is corresponding to a specific op-code is used to determine where configuration settings are located, for modification.

  • Patent number: 6148004
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the establishment of dynamic Enterprise System Connection ("ESCON") connections over a Fibre Channel connection allows a port state machine (or port module) to request dynamic ESCON connections from the exchange context of the Fibre Channel frame and to implement dynamic linking of the Fibre Channel exchanges to ESCON ports while also linking and monitoring the status of these connections for all subsequent frames associated on a particular exchange. In a particular embodiment, the method and apparatus provides the ability to establish dynamic connections through an ESCON Director switch based off of the Originator Exchange Identifier ("OX.sub.-- ID") of the FC-2 header and information contained in the FC-4 header of the Fibre Channel frame. Once a connection path has been established for a particular OX.sub.-- ID, that connection is maintained until the exchange is terminated.
