  • Patent number: 9419367
Abstract: Pluggable connector including a contact array of electrical contacts for engaging corresponding contacts of a communication component. The pluggable connector also includes a connector housing having a mating end configured to mate with the communication component. The connector housing includes a first housing shell and a second housing shell that oppose each other and are coupled together to define a housing cavity therebetween. The contact array is disposed within the housing cavity. The first housing shell includes a plug collar that surrounds the contact array at the mating end. The plug collar has a leading edge and a back edge. The second housing shell interfaces with the back edge of the plug collar such that the plug collar extends from the second housing shell to the mating end.

  • Patent number: 8870595
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly is provided with a shielding cage member having an upper port and a lower port configured to receive pluggable modules therein. The cage member has side walls that extend along sides of the upper and lower ports. The cage member includes a separator member that extends between the side walls and between the upper and lower ports. The separator member has an upper plate and a lower plate with a channel therebetween. A light pipe organizer is positioned within the channel. An RF absorber is positioned within the channel in engagement with the light pipe organizer. The RF absorber reduces an amount of electromagnetic interference (EMI) emitted from the channel.

  • Patent number: 8203084
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes an electrically conductive cage having a cage end configured for mounting in a panel opening. The cage has a compartment for receiving a pluggable electrical component therein. The cage end has a circumference defined by an exterior surface of the cage. A retention frame extends over the cage end along at least a portion of the circumference. The retention frame includes a gasket side and a rear side. A retention opening extends through the gasket and rear sides of the retention frame. An EMI gasket is mounted on the cage end. The EMI gasket includes a length of electrically conductive cord having opposite cord ends. The cord is wrapped externally around the cage end forming a continuous band that engages the exterior surface of the cage along at least a portion of the circumference. The cord extends along and engages the gasket side of the retention frame and the cord ends extend through the retention opening and along the rear side of the retention frame.

  • Patent number: 7473124
Abstract: An electrical plug assembly includes a housing, a latch and an actuator. The housing extends along a longitudinal axis and is configured to mate with a receptacle assembly. The latch is movably coupled to the housing and has a latching end configured to latch and unlatch the receptacle assembly. The actuator is interconnected with the housing and the latch. The actuator is movable in both a push direction and a pull direction. The actuator raises the latching end when the actuator is pushed along the longitudinal axis in the push direction. The actuator also raises the latching end when the actuator is pulled along the pull direction.
