  • Patent number: 9968291
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting uterine activity uses cutaneous electrodes on the maternal abdomen to obtain electrophysiological signals that can be used to obtain fetal and maternal heart rate. The apparatus includes a first input for receiving electrical signals from the cutaneous electrodes and a second input for receiving movement signals indicative of a movement of the maternal body from a movement detector. A signal processor separates a uterine electromyogram signal from fetal and maternal heart rate signals and filters out motion artifacts from the electromyogram using the movement signals. An output presents electrohysterogram (EHG) data from the uterine electromyogram signal.

  • Patent number: 9664891
Abstract: An electrowetting element includes a first fluid and a second fluid and a support plate having a first surface adjoining less than all of a perimeter of a second surface. The first surface has a wettability for the first fluid lower than a wettability of the second surface for the first fluid. • Publication number: 20170100999
Abstract: A drive arrangement and a vehicle; having a damper device having a damper primary side and a damper secondary side. The damper primary side forms a first drive interface for the coupling of a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, having a freewheel device with a freewheel input and a freewheel output. The damper secondary side is coupled rotationally conjointly to the freewheel input, having a gearbox section operatively connected to the freewheel output, having an output interface for the coupling of a drive output section of the vehicle, wherein the output interface is operatively connected to the gearbox section, and having a second drive interface for the coupling of the electric motor and operatively connected to the gearbox section by a control device. The drive arrangement can, by the control device, be switched into different operating states such that a drive torque can be transmitted to the output interface by the first drive interface or by the second drive interface.

  • Publication number: 20160262649
Abstract: The invention concerns a multi-electrode patch for abdominal electrophysiological detection. The patch has a flexible substrate interconnecting multiple electrodes and a module unit for removably engaging with an electronic readout device for detecting a maternal and/or fetal electrophysiological signal from the electrodes. The module has a mechanical module unit for removable mechanical engagement with a housing of the readout device, and an electrical module unit for making an electrical connection from the electrodes to the readout device. Engaging the patch with the readout device comprises engaging both the mechanical module unit and the electrical module unit. The patch may be flexible in a manner that allows variation in the relative positioning between the electrodes. The patch and/or electronic readout device may comprise a security device for communication of an authentication code.

  • Patent number: 9069161
Abstract: A display device comprising picture elements, which are constituted by electrowetting elements having at least one first fluid and a second fluid immiscible with each other within a space between a first support plate and a second support plate, the second fluid being electro-conductive or polar. The first fluid in each element is at the side of the first support plate confined by element walls, and the second fluid is shared by a plurality of picture elements, characterized by a preventer for preventing first fluid portions from being expelled from its confinement when forces other than electrowetting forces are exerted on this fluid.
