Patent number: 9573392Abstract: In a method to operate an ink printing apparatus, and in an ink printing apparatus, a recording medium is directed through a printer. The recording medium is subsequently supplied to a dryer having at least one heating saddle and a drying channel arranged at the heating saddle. In the dryer the recording medium is directed past the heating saddle. A negative pressure is generated in the drying channel via an air exhaust arranged at one end of the drying channel. In the printing operation, in a region of the heating saddle a negative pressure is exerted on the recording medium in a direction of the heating saddle so that the heating saddle is then in contact with the recording medium in order to dry the ink on the recording medium. Upon interruption of the printing operation with braking of the recording medium, the negative pressure in the direction of the heating saddle is deactivated at a beginning of the braking.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2015Date of Patent: February 21, 2017Assignee: Océ´ Printing Systems GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Mehrad Biglari, Robert Heimbach

Patent number: 9375952Abstract: In a method or device to determine a lift state of a recording medium from a surface of a heating saddle of an inkjet printing system, the recording medium being directed past the surface for drying, an index for power consumption of the heating saddle is determined including a determination of a time curve of the electrical power consumed by the heating saddle. The power consumption of the heating saddle depends on a desired temperature of the heating saddle. The lift state of the recording medium is determined based on the index for the power consumption.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2015Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: Océ Printing Systems GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Mehrad Biglari, Robert Heimbach, Robert Lang

Patent number: 8300258Abstract: For operation of a data bus to which multiple bus participants each with a respective serial number are connected, a new bus participant is connected. A request bus message is generated by the new bus participant containing a preliminary participant identification number. The request bus message is arbitrated in the data bus by means of the identification number. A final participant identification number is assigned for the new bus participant having fewer digits than the serial number of the new participant. The final participant identification number is used for further bus messages by the new bus participant. During an initialization bus messages are used with an identifier in which a complete serial number is entered as the identifier. After the initialization a different type of bus message is used that has a shorter identifier.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2012Date of Patent: October 30, 2012Assignee: Océ Printing Systems GmbHInventors: Thomas Kreppold, Arno Best, Herbert Gibisch, Robert Heimbach, Hermann Andresen

Patent number: 8253960Abstract: In a method or system for operation of a data bus to which multiple bus participants each with a respective serial number specific to them are connected, a new bus participant is connected to the data bus. A request bus message is generated by the new bus participant, the message containing a preliminary participant identification number as an identifier derived from a serial number of the new bus participant. The request bus message is sent to a master processor system for assigning a final participant identification number for the new bus participant after a receipt of the request bus message with the preliminary participant identification number. The final participant identification number has fewer digits than the serial number of the new bus participant. The final participant identification number is used by the new bus participant as an identifier for further bus messages.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2007Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: Océ Printing Systems GmbHInventors: Thomas Kreppold, Arno Best, Herbert Gibisch, Robert Heimbach, Hermann Andresen

Patent number: 7835684Abstract: In a method for control of an electrophotographic printer or copier, information that refer to a single sheet are determined from print data supplied to the printer or copier. Dependent on said information, a transport path of the single sheet through the printer or copier to generate at least one print image on at least one side of the sheet is determined. A system time of the printer or copier is provided that is the same for at least first and second control units of the printer or copier. At least one desired point in time at or until which at least one sensor signal is expected or at least one actuator is activated is established dependent on the transport path, the desired point in time referring to the system time of the printer or copier.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2003Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: Oce Printing Systems GmbHInventors: Robert Heimbach, Rainer Katterloher, Stephan Pilsl, Stefan Zimprich, Christian Ferti, Werner Zollner, Christoph Nemmaier, Helmut Sippel, Hubert Drexler
