    Abstract: The invention relates to a process and a device for adjusting clearing limits, defects in the yarn being cut out and a clearing limit separating defects which are to be cut out from defects which are not to be cut out. To achieve an improved, simplified and rapid adjustment of the clearing limit so the effect thereof in the end product can also be predicted more accurately, starting from the clearing limit, displays of defects in the end product are to be produced which make an effect of the defects in the end product visible.
