Abstract: A method of producing metals and alloys, the method comprising heating raw materials comprising at least one metal oxide, and agglomerates comprising a carbonaceous reducing agent and a cured binder to effect reduction of the metal oxide to the metal, wherein each agglomerate has at least one molded open channel, and an apparent density not greater than 99% of the apparent density of an identical agglomerate except without the channel.

Abstract: This disclosure describes novel systems, methods and software for providing flight training. In an aspect of some embodiments, flight data is collected during a training flight. That flight data then can be used to provide a review and/or simulation of the training flight. The student may be allowed to participate in the simulation by providing input from a set of controls. In some cases, an instructor (or another) might provide modified flight data, which can be used to modify the simulation. Advantageously, this allows for the analysis and simulation of a variety of hypothetical, “what-if” scenarios.

Abstract: In order to prevent occurrence of an interruption of a transmission of a high-bit-rate digital signal due to specific signals during simultaneous transmission of the high-bit-rate digital signal and of signals of a standard telephone connection between a public exchange and a subscriber-side terminal, an information signal is output before the occurrence of such a special situation and, as a result of the information signal, the transmission of the high-bit-rate digital signal is modified in a suitable way for the duration of the special situation.

Abstract: A cyclic process having reduced hydrocarbon emission is provided for oxyhydrochlorination of ethylene to produce ethylene dichloride employing substantially pure oxygen as feed to the oxyhydrochlorination unit and recycling a major portion of the residual gas stream from which ethylene dichloride has been recovered as condensate, wherein reactant feed rates are adjusted to maintain recycle gas stream composition within specified limits.

Abstract: A synchronizer circuit for use with tone receivers employed in the reception of asynchronous tones. A plurality of latch stages controlled by an external clock pulse source and internal timing circuitry provides synchronized outputs of a series of signals which represent the input tone on-off sequences.
