  • Publication number: 20260199599
Abstract: The present disclosure describes dedicated consumable sets for use with syringe pumps. A dedicated consumable set for use with a syringe pump may include a housing configured to receive a flow rate sensor communicatively coupled to the syringe pump and configured to measure flow rate of an infusate, and an optional RFID tag fixedly coupled to the housing and configured to communicate information about the dedicated consumable set to the syringe pump. The flow rate sensor can be further configured to detect the presence of an occlusion and communicate detection of the occlusion to the syringe pump. Advantages of the present disclosure include improvements to syringe pump start-up time, syringe swap time, and syringe pump occlusion detection and resolution times.

  • Publication number: 20260192044
Abstract: Dedicated consumable sets with pressure sensors and valves, for use with syringe infusion pumps, are disclosed. A dedicated consumable set for use with a syringe pump may include a housing, a valve positioned between distal and proximal ends of the dedicated consumable set and configured to block or regulate the flow of infusate through tubing from a syringe to a patient, and a pressure sensor for measuring pressure inside the dedicated consumable set, and optionally a flow sensor for measuring flow, the pressure sensor configured to transmit pressure measurements above a predetermined level to the valve. The valve can be further configured to automatically actuate between an open position and a closed position, or to proportionally adjust restriction and modulate contained volume, in response to an external event, which may be receiving a pressure measurement above a predetermined level or detecting the removal of the syringe from the syringe pump.

  • Publication number: 20260091168
Abstract: Embodiments of syringes and components thereof described herein provide reduced compliance from flexing or deformation, of not only the syringe barrel but also of the syringe plunger rod and plunger seal. Embodiments of syringes and components thereof described herein also provide improved sealing between the barrel and the syringe plunger rod, and improved resistance to pressure. Embodiments of syringes and components thereof described herein are advantageously suited for use with an infusion pump which may subject syringes to many start/stop operations over a period of hours, sometimes at very low flow rates.
