    Abstract: The invention provides a heat shield for a heat- and sound-radiating component in a vehicle. The heat shield includes a carrier which has an inner side which, in the mounted state, faces the component and on which a continuous insulating material is arranged, for the absorption of heat and sound which are produced by the component. The carrier has a plurality of apertures in order to reduce sound radiation of the carrier. The provided embodiment and arrangement of the apertures, and the arrangement of the insulating material on the inner side significantly improve the sound- and heat-insulating properties of the heat shield.
