Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for personal identity data management permit individuals to manage their criminal background, credit history, employment, demographic and educational information, for example, to establish their credentials and to help protect their good names. All access to this personal identity data, including the biometrics that uniquely establish the individuals' identity, is under the personal control of the individuals, with access limited to others only with their specific authorization. The subject systems, methods and apparatus include at least two separate archives that store encrypted data about individuals that can be accessed only via the individuals' biometrics specific to the archives and unique Identification Numbers. The Identification Numbers are encrypted when they are associated with the individuals' demographic data, which includes their names, Social Security Numbers and the Unique Identifiers assigned by the system to each of the individuals.

Abstract: A system for employers and other organizations desiring the results of fingerprint-based criminal history background checks to validate that the intended applicants' fingerprints were in fact used for the checks. This system includes: 1. A compatible method for capturing individual applicants' fingerprints for the purpose of conducting fingerprint-based criminal history background checks at collection points and means for transmitting the applicants' fingerprints and biographical data to an Automated Fingerprint Image System (AFIS); 2. A compatible device at the employer's location that captures an electronic image of one or more of the applicant's fingerprints and means for transmitting these fingerprints and biographical data to an Automated Fingerprint Image System (AFIS). Abstract: An automated system for performing criminal background investigations of individuals comprising at least one investigator having access to at least one address information database and at least one criminal history database, the investigator having apparatus for recording personal identification information of a subject and for generating electronic reports relating to the criminal history of the subject; and a search architecture responsive to inputs by the at least one investigator for causing a search of each database, for processing the corresponding search results to 1) eliminate those criminal records which do not relate to the subject, 2) identify and report those criminal records which do relate to the subject, and 3) identify and report those criminal records which may relate to the subject and require further investigation.
