Publication number: 20140332197Abstract: An air conditioner terminal device (100) and a data center comprising the air conditioner terminal device, wherein the air conditioner terminal device (100) comprises a heat exchanger (12), a variable-speed fan (22), an air passage (101) communicating from an air suction port (11) to an air discharge port (21), and refrigerant flowing through the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger (12) and fan (22) are installed in the air passage (101), and the fan (22) forces air within the air passage (101) to flow towards the air discharge port (21) from the air suction port (11). The refrigerant comes into heat contact with air within the air passage (101) via the heat exchanger (12). The heat exchanger has an input joint (121) and an output joint (122), the refrigerant flows in via the input joint (121) and flows out the output joint (122). The refrigerant inside the input joint (121) is liquid-phase fluid, whereas the refrigerant inside the output joint (122) is gas-liquid two-phase fluid or gas-phase fluid.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2012Publication date: November 13, 2014Inventors: YuHui Kuang, Robert Hong-Leung Chiang, Michel Grabon, Lijia Jessica Zhao

Patent number: 7951327Abstract: A photocatalytic air purifier is disclosed. The photocatalytic purifier includes filter structures coated with a catalytic material such as titanium dioxide. One or more UV lamps are interposed between the filter structures. The catalytic layer reacts with airborne VOCs and bioaerosols when activated by the UV lamps to thereby oxidize the VOCs and destroy the bioaerosols. The photocatalytic air purifier does not need to be replaced or regenerated after a period of continuous usage. The photocatalytic purifier of the present invention substantially eliminates odors, VOCs, and bioaerosols from air directed through the fan coil. The photocatalytic air purifier includes a control system that optimizes operating costs. Because of these features, service, maintenance, and filter replacement are reduced to a minimum. At the same time, the well being of persons living in the space conditioned by the photocatalytic air purifier is improved.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2009Date of Patent: May 31, 2011Assignee: Carrier CorporationInventors: Bradley Reisfeld, Robert Hong Leung Chiang, Olivier Josserand, Kevin B. Publication number: 20100115984Abstract: A dual refrigeration circuit watercooled chiller has its respective evaporators and condensers interconnected by waterboxes such that the first circuit tubes discharge into the respective waterbox and the flow of water then passes from the respective waterboxes to the respective evaporator/condenser tubes of the second circuit. Instrumentation is attached to the waterboxes to enable the measurement of the leaving temperature differential to provide improved control. Since the first and second circuit tubes are separate and independent, both serviceability and flexibility in design are substantially enhanced.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2006Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: Carrier CorproationInventors: Scott M.
