In particular, one or more embodiments comprise a tanning manager that directs the routing of hides to a plurality of tanning drums. This allows the tanning manager to efficiently use the capacity of the plurality of tanning drums and provides improved consistency in the tanning of the hides. Furthermore, one or more embodiments enable the tanning manager to route hides to tanning drums based on various factors, such as hide type, hide weight, and hide size. In addition, one or more embodiments provide the tanning manager with greater control over the processing of hides into leather by customizing the tanning recipes applied to each batch of hides.

Abstract: Wireless earphones or headphones include a control unit having a housing which contains electronic circuitry, and exposed push button switches mounted on the housing. The control unit has a pivotable and foldable male connector plug in the form of a micro or mini USB connector. The plug may be pivoted outwardly, away from the control unit, and unfolded to conform to the shape of a standard micro or mini USB plug. The advantage of such a design is that there are no extra cables required for charging internal battery of the earphones or headphones. Rather, the male connector of the control unit, which is exposed when pivoted away from the control unit and useable when unfolded, may be plugged directly into a laptop computer or other source of power having a compatible micro or mini USB female connector, without the need for a cable extending between the two devices.

Abstract: A high-power electrostatic actuator comprising rotor and stator layers with fault-tolerant electrode structures, a housing to contain the electrodes and dielectric fluid, and electronic circuitry driving a plurality of high-voltage phases. The actuator is constructed from multiple rotor and stator films separated by spacing elements. The electrode structure provides self-alignment for precise assembly. The actuator assembly includes built-in fine-position sensors to allow optimal timing in powering phases, and a coarse position sensor for feedback control. The electrode structure has a large region of linear force to provide low torque-ripple allowing simple high/low voltage pulsing instead of analog high voltage waveforms. Single or double sided flexible circuit manufacturing techniques are used to fabricate the rotor and stator films at low cost.
