  • Patent number: 8886886
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for releasing the sticky state of cache lines for one or more group IDs. A sticky removal engine walks through the tag memory of a system cache looking for matches with a first group ID which is clearing its cache lines from the system cache. The engine clears the sticky state of each cache line belonging to the first group ID. If the engine receives a release request for a second group ID, the engine records the current index to log its progress through the tag memory. Then, the engine continues its walk through the tag memory looking for matches with either the first or second group ID. The engine wraps around to the start of the tag memory and continues its walk until reaching the recorded index for the second group ID.

  • Patent number: 5984951
Abstract: An ice cooling apparatus and method therefor that comprise a number of ice pockets slideably attached to an adjustable strap for securing them in place around a wearer's body. By positioning the ice pockets on the painful areas, a wearer is assured of continuous contact and cooling effect, with the attendant benefits resulting from ice treatment. Because the apparatus is strapped around the wearer's body, it is not necessary to use one's hands to keep it in place, thus allowing the wearer to be freed from the usual constraint of having to hold the ice bag on the sore site.

  • Patent number: 5774178
Abstract: A multiple-beam field sequential color (FSC) display system is provided for receiving a stream of digitized single-beam image data to display a color image by employing a plurality of CRT guns to project multiple beams on a monochromatic CRT screen followed by converting a monochromatic refection from the CRT screen to the color image by using a liquid crystal color system (LCCS). The multiple-beam display system includes a multiple-beam image data memory which includes a plurality of data-banks. The multiple beam display system further includes an image data rearranging processor for rearranging and storing the plurality of digitized single-beam image data in the multiple beam-image data memory according to a pre-designated multiple-beam sequence in each of the data-banks.

  • Patent number: 5177784
Abstract: Several embodiment of a telephone device having a cradle and a headset assembly are disclosed. Each headset has spring biased members to firmly hold the headset on a person's head which device frees the hands when listening thereto or talking therein. In one embodiment, the headset has first and second resilient, spring-biased retractable bars having respective outer ends fixedly connected to respective first and second ear speakers. Other embodiments use bar shaped or square shaped elements to hold the speakers and mechanical arrangements to extend or retract the bar shaped or square shaped elements. The headset embodiments are disclosed for use with conventional telephone systems that have telephone lines or cords to cradles or for use with remote or cordless systems that can be used for cellular or non-cellular telephone systems.
