  • Patent number: 12329232
Abstract: A shoe-opening spring includes a base with a medial edge and a lateral edge, a medial spring protruding upwardly from the medial edge of the base, and a lateral edge protruding upwardly from the lateral edge of the base. When the shoe-opening spring is present within a shoe and in a relaxed arrangement, the medial spring and the lateral spring may respectively exert medially and laterally outward forces against respective medial and lateral sides of the shoe. When the medial and lateral sides of the upper of the shoe are pulled together, for example, with a closure of the shoe, the shoe-opening spring may be placed in a tensed arrangement, in which state the shoe-opening spring may remain until the closure is released.

  • Publication number: 20250002969
Abstract: A method of determining antibiotic resistance of bacteria includes dividing a sample including the bacteria into a plurality of sub-samples, mixing labeling: agents with each of the plurality of sub-samples. Each of the labeling agents is detectible via a detection system including a sensor to detect photoacoustic waves. The labeling: agents are further active to selectively bind with the bacteria. The method further includes applying an antibiotic to one or more of the plurality of sub-samples and not to one or more others of the plurality of sub-samples, characterizing at least one of the sub-samples to which the antibiotic has been applied and at least one of the sub-samples to which no antibiotic has been applied after a determined period of time via the detection system, and determining antibiotic resistance of the bacteria on the basis of the characterization via the detection system.

  • Publication number: 20240340612
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for performing proximity-based output selection. A computing device comprising one or more network interfaces and processing circuitry may be configured to perform the techniques. The one or more network interfaces may communicate with one or more available outputs for playing content. The processing circuitry may determine a proximity to the computing device for each of the one or more available outputs, and determine, based on the proximity determined for each of the one or more available outputs relative to every other one of the one or more available outputs, a ranked list of available outputs. The processing circuitry may next interface, with a display, a graphical user interface that includes at least a portion of the ranked list of available outputs.

  • Patent number: 12110649
Abstract: A coupler for coupling an implement having first and second spaced apart parallel pins, to the arm of a vehicle. The coupler has a body for attaching to the vehicle arm, a first fixed jaw, a movable second jaw facing away from the first jaw, and an actuator to selectively move the second jaw towards and away from the first jaw. The first jaw includes a lip forward of the seat for the first pin. A first locking member is pivotable between a locking position, in which a portion of the locking member protrudes into the opening of the first jaw, and an unlocked position. A second locking member is pivotable between a locking position in which a portion of the second locking member constricts the opening of the second jaw, and an unlocked position. Movement of the second jaw causes movement of the first locking member.

  • Publication number: 20240252493
Abstract: Apelin receptor modulators can improve physical performance, slow progression of age-related frailty, and can reduce age-related muscle weakness in human patients. This disclosure provides methods for treating muscle conditions using a particular class of apelin receptor modulators (e.g., agonists). The muscle condition can be an age-related muscle condition. Also provided is a method for maintaining and/or increasing muscle mass and/or muscle strength in an elderly subject by administration of the apelin receptor modulator. In some embodiments, the apelin receptor modulator (e.g., agonist) is BGE-105, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

  • Publication number: 20240044210
Abstract: Methods, computing systems, and computer-readable media for dynamically adjusting drilling parameters during a drilling operation. The approach involves receiving, in real time, drilling parameter measurements and response measurements during a drilling operation. If the response measurements are below the lower limit of a window or trending downwards, the approach determines a new drilling parameter value that will increase the response measurement. The approach dynamically adjusts the drilling parameter value above the sectional limit, while still respecting hard limits. When the measured value improves, the approach returns the limit for the drilling parameter to the sectional limit.

Abstract: The embodiments provide a system and method for continuously updating a target repository to include both the latest data and corrected historical data. The system includes a data manager and at least two staging repositories. Each time the system retrieves the latest data from the source repository it also retrieves a portion historical data. Both the latest data and the historical data are transformed, and the historical portion of the transformed data is compared with corresponding data from the target repository to determine if there are any defects in the data from the target repository. The target repository is automatically updated if a defect is detected.
