Publication number: 20210189867Abstract: Hydrocarbon extraction can be expedited and improved. As one example, a system can receive input data describing a technical process for adjusting hydrocarbon production from a well site. The system can then detect a change in hydrocarbon production from the well site resulting from applying the technical process to the well site. The system can associate the change in hydrocarbon production with a number of barrels of hydrocarbons. The system can then determine values for at least two site metrics based on the number of barrels of hydrocarbons, the values indicating an efficacy of the technical process. The system can transmit an output signal comprising the values indicating the efficacy of the technical process. The technical process may then be adjusted based on the content of the output signal, so as to provide a feedback loop that facilitates hydrocarbon extraction from the well site.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2019Publication date: June 24, 2021Inventors: Alan Coats, Robert Hull

Patent number: 10401512Abstract: Rock properties and structural attributes can be combined with an ellipsoid stimulation model around a well bore. A stepwise regression or other optimization analysis can then used to determine what property(ies) and/or attribute(s) has the greatest impact on the shape and properties of a microseismic density volume and can be best used to predict the same. These same properties and/or attributes can then be used to create a microseismic density volume around another nearby well where microseismic data was not recorded to estimated a stimulated reservoir volume.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2014Date of Patent: September 3, 2019Assignee: Pioneer Natural Resources USA, Inc.Inventors: Robert Meek, Bailo Suliman, Robert Hull, Hector Bello, Douglas Portis

Publication number: 20150382293Abstract: Power management for a remote antenna unit(s) (RAUs) in a distributed antenna system. Power can be managed for an RAU configured to power modules and devices that may require more power to operate than power available to the RAU. For example, the RAU may be configured to include power-consuming RAU modules to provide distributed antenna system-related services. As another example, the RAU may be configured to provide power through powered ports in the RAU to external power-consuming devices. Depending on the configuration of the RAU, the power-consuming RAU modules and/or external power-consuming devices may demand more power than is available at the RAU. In this instance, the power available at the RAU can be distributed to the power-consuming modules and devices based on the priority of services desired to be provided by the RAU.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2015Publication date: December 31, 2015Inventors: Christian Heidler, Jonathan Robert Hull, John Kedziora, Michael Sauer, Wolfgang Gottfried Tobias Schweiker

Publication number: 20130340127Abstract: Advantageous systems, methods, and computer-readable media for temperature measurement of a sample, using new temperature measurement and mapping techniques, are provided. The technique employs a temperature sensitive electron signal in a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and provides both high spatial resolution and non-contact temperature measurement capabilities no existing technique can adequately combine. This technique thus adds a new capability—temperature measurement and mapping—to the collection of existing SEM capabilities.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2013Publication date: December 19, 2013Inventors: XIAOWEI WU, ROBERT HULL

Patent number: 8126857Abstract: Systems and methods for proactive information monitoring are presented. A user can define alert criteria for generating an alert through a centralized alerting service where the alert criteria relate to the status of records in a data set. The records of the data can be distributed across multiple remote or unaffiliated databases to which the user lacks access. The service can disaggregate the criteria into individual criterion targeting specific records stored in the databases. The criterions are provided to agents that monitor the records. When the records satisfy the criterion, the agents send notifications back to the service. Once the service receives sufficient notifications to indicate the alert criteria are satisfied, the service sends an alert to designated recipients. The systems and methods are able provide alert information without compromising the confidentially or security of the remote databases.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2008Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: Melissa Data Corp.Inventors: Philip M. Patent number: 6318755Abstract: A crash pad for use in vehicle interiors. The crash pad includes an energy-absorbing honeycomb which has a cover plate attached thereon to prevent noise from being generated due to contact between the crash pad and vehicle interior surface during normal vehicle operation. The cover plate is attached on one side to the honeycomb with the other side being molded to match the shape of the interior surface of the vehicle. The cover plate includes positioning devices which locate and hold the crash pad during interior panel fabrication. The cover plate protects the honeycomb and the technician during handling and installation. The cover plate also helps to retain the shape of the honeycomb and provides a suitable surface for labels that may contain product identification and other information needed during use of the pads in mass production of vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2000Date of Patent: November 20, 2001Assignee: Hexcel CorporationInventors: Lori A. Patent number: 6003283Abstract: Flexible honeycomb panels are vented by providing vent openings at specific locations within the honeycomb core. The invention is applicable to flexible honeycomb panels which are made from bonded corrugated sheets wherein each of the corrugated sheets has upper and lower node ridges and wherein the lower surfaces of lower node ridges are bonded to the upper surface of lower node ridges located on underlying sheets. The corrugated sheets are stacked so that the adhesive or bond lines between the lower nodes are displaced from each other within the stack. Vent openings are located in the upper node ridges to provide venting of the honeycomb structure. Location of vent openings in the upper node ridges can be controlled to provide selective transport of media through the honeycomb.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1998Date of Patent: December 21, 1999Assignee: Hexcel CorporationInventor: H. Patent number: 5091767Abstract: Disclosed are strained layer heteroepitaxial structures (e.g., GeSi/Si) that can have low threading dislocation density as well as a substantially planar surface. Furthermore, a large fraction (e.g., >90%) of the total surface are of the structure can be available for device processing. These advantageous features are achieved through utilization of novel "dislocation sinks" on or in the substrate whose height parameter h is less than or about equal to the thickness of the strained heteroepitaxial layer on the substrate. Exemplarily, h.gtoreq.h.sub.c, where h.sub.c is the critical thickness associated with misfit dislocation generation in the substrate/overlayer combination.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1991Date of Patent: February 25, 1992Assignee: AT&T Bell LaboratoriesInventors: John C. Bean, Gregg S. Higashi, Robert Hull, Justin L. Peticolas

Patent number: 4859517Abstract: A formable honeycomb panel is disclosed that comprises a core layer and two skin panels of sheet material bonded to opposite sides of the core layer. At least one of the skin panels is porous and has an effective stiffness that is substantially less than the stiffness of a solid sheet of material of the same thickness. The stiffness of the porous skin panel is sufficiently low so that bending of the honeycomb panel is accommodated primarily by deformation of the porous skin panel before the core layer collapses or the adhesive bonds between the core layer and the skin panels fail.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1987Date of Patent: August 22, 1989Assignee: Hexcel CorporationInventor: H.
