  • Patent number: 10775471
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus receive a signal from a first wireless device through a first antenna, of a plurality of antennas, the signal including a first segment and a second segment. Responsive to detecting a change in the signal from the first segment to the second segment, embodiments traverse the plurality of antennas to receive the second segment through each of the plurality of antennas. Embodiments determine a plurality of phase samples, each associated with the second segment received through one of the plurality of antennas. Embodiment then use the plurality of phase samples to calculate direction data associated with the first wireless device.

  • Patent number: 10652913
Abstract: Methods and systems for enabling coexistence of multiple potentially interfering wireless components in a device are provided. A device may include a wireless module using a proprietary protocol and one or more modules using standardized protocols. The device further includes a coexistence arbitration module configured to arbitrate access to a shared communication medium among the wireless modules based on assertion of medium access requests by the modules and the associated priority of the asserted medium access requests. When multiple medium access requests have the same priority, precedence for access to the shared medium is determined based on additional criteria. The coexistence arbitration module may be a separate module or may be integrated into another module or distributed among the modules. The device may include a host processor for altering transmission characteristics of a module to increase the likelihood that another module can receive data within a reasonable time period.

  • Patent number: 10295647
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for enabling a mobile device with limited RF capability to obtain accurate directions for finding an object or asset via a multiple-antenna locator device. The mobile device generates a request to the locator device to obtain directions to find the asset. A request can also be made to obtain the mobile device's own location from the multiple-antenna locator device which has an antenna array and is in a fixed location that has good RF visibility. The locator device identifies the target asset and receives an RF signal from it using the antenna array. The signal is detected at each antenna and phase samples are recorded. The phase sample data is used in angle-related functions, such as angle of arrival and angle of departure algorithms to calculate the direction of the asset.

  • Patent number: 9408147
Abstract: A method of communicating data in a Bluetoothâ„¢ low energy (BLE) module is provided. The method includes modulating an outbound communication signal into a modulated signal with a particular modulation scheme based on a modulation type, and transmitting the modulated signal to a remote device via a wireless communication connection associated with the modulation type. The method also includes receiving an inbound radio frequency (RF) signal, determining if the inbound RF signal is associated with a modulation type, and demodulating the inbound RF signal with a particular modulation scheme based on the modulation type if the inbound RF signal is determined to be associated with a modulation type. In some aspects, the inbound RF signal and outbound modulated signal have symbol rates of 2 Megasymbols per second. In some implementations, the method includes switching between a legacy BLE system and an enhanced rate BLE system.
