  • Patent number: 10633230
Abstract: A hoist controller for a rescue hoist collects hoist operating data from one or more sensors during operation of the rescue hoist. The hoist controller compares the hoist operating data to a maintenance parameter stored in a memory of the hoist controller and determines a maintenance task status based on the comparison of the hoist operating data and the maintenance parameter. The hoist controller automatically initiates maintenance routines where the maintenance task status indicates that maintenance is required, and the hoist controller provides the maintenance routines to the user via a user interface. The hoist controller can confirm that the maintenance task was successfully completed based on maintenance data received from the one or more sensors.

  • Patent number: 10252894
Abstract: A self-homing hoist includes a controller configured to initiate a self-homing process to return the hook assembly to a homed position in response to each of at least one homing factor being true. Each homing factor is true or false based on a comparison of the current condition of the homing factor with a threshold requirement. If the current condition satisfies the threshold requirement, then the homing factor is true. If the current condition does not satisfy the threshold requirement, then the homing factor is false. Where all homing factors are true, the controller can initiate the self-homing process by activating a hoist motor to drive the cable drum and reel the hook assembly into the homed position.

  • Patent number: 10189682
Abstract: A hook assembly can include a bumper assembly and a hook attached to the bumper. The bumper assembly includes a top plate, a bottom plate, and a bumper extending between and connecting the top plate and the bottom plate. A lighting element can be disposed on the top plate, the bottom plate, and the bumper to provide a visual indicator for the bumper assembly. The lighting element can be an electroluminescent device, and can be disposed on an exterior surface of the bumper assembly or in a recess extending into the bumper assembly. A power source and other electrical components can be stored in a compartment in the top plate.

  • Publication number: 20160116186
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are provided in which a replaceable cartridge is utilized to generate heat energy. The replaceable cartridge is a sealed, unitary body that encloses both fuel and a ceramic body in which the energy-generating reaction takes place. Such devices and systems are re-fueled by replacement of the spent replaceable cartridge, the contents of which can be recovered and recycled.

  • Publication number: 20130079769
Abstract: A method of assembling an electrosurgical instrument (1) includes the steps of forming components such as an elongate shaft (11), an electrode (2) and a base unit (3), presenting the electrode (2) to the base unit (3) such that the electrode (2) is temporarily located on the base unit (3), and applying a locking component (10), the locking component (10) holding the electrode (2) and the base unit (3) together. The locking component (10) is then secured to the elongate shaft (11) unit in such a way as to retain the electrode (2) on the base unit (3) and form the completed electrosurgical instrument. The locking component can be secured by means of a mechanical arrangement such as a bayonet fixing, or by a screw threaded connection.
