  • Patent number: 10272638
Abstract: An underlayment material has a fiber mat partially infused and/or coated with asphalt and coated with silicone coating. A selvedge edge, may be coated or uncoated. The back of the underlayment has a self-adhesive coating, which is protected before use by a siliconized release film. The upper surface of the underlayment is coated with silicone composition providing waterproofing and radiation control. When unsaturated, the selvedge edge of fibrous material establishes a reinforced bond with an overlying sheet. When saturated with asphalt, the bond at the selvedge edge between adjacent sheets is between the asphalt layer of the selvedge edge and the adhesive on the bottom of the adjacent sheet.

  • Publication number: 20150220438
Abstract: Examples described herein include a computer system, implemented on a node cluster including at least a first node and a second node. The computer system monitors data access requests received by the first node. Specifically, the computer system monitors data access requests that correspond with operations to be performed on a data volume stored on the second node. The system determines that a number of the data access requests received by the first node satisfies a first threshold amount and, upon making the determination, selectively provisions a cache to store a copy of the data volume on the first node based, at least in part, on a system load of the first node.

  • Publication number: 20130066675
Abstract: The current application discloses a dual-purpose automated system and related methods for collecting consumer data by providing a product-and-services consumer recommendation service and using the collected data to provide market research and analyses to clients. The consumer recommendation service assists consumers in evaluating and choosing particular products and services from among certain available and/or hypothetical products and services and, during operation, electronically stores information obtained from consumer interactions with the consumer recommendation service that is used as a basis for providing market-research data and analyses to retailers, manufactures, and other clients.

  • Patent number: 8224864
Abstract: A method and apparatus for striping a directory across storage server nodes. Each storage server node services one of a plurality of persistent mass storage facilities. The method comprises mapping each filename in the directory to one of the persistent mass storage facilities. According to the mapping of the filenames, the directory is distributed across the storage server nodes for storage on the persistent mass storage facilities.

  • Patent number: 8180983
Abstract: A method and system for caching filenames of a directory that is striped across the volumes serviced by a plurality of storage server nodes. The method comprises storing a filename in a first volume and a second volume of the striped volume set in the same locations within the respective volumes. The same locations within the respective volumes refer to the same locations with respect to a reference point of a directory structure in the respective volumes.

  • Patent number: 7758896
Abstract: A porous composition comprising a hydroxyapatite material, as can be made from a mixture of calcium phosphate, calcium oxide and a removable inorganic porogen. In other embodiments, the present invention provides a method of making such a porous hydroxyapatite material or using a ternary system to prepare a two-phase composition enroute to a biomimetic bone material.

  • Publication number: 20060248088
Abstract: A system and method caches and distributes meta-data for one or more data containers stored on a plurality of volumes configured as a striped volume set (SVS) and served by a plurality of nodes interconnected as a cluster. The SVS comprises one meta-data volume (MDV) configured to store a canonical copy of certain meta-data, including access control lists and directories, associated with all data containers stored on the SVS, and one or more data volumes (DV) configured to store, at least, data content of those containers. In addition, for each data container stored on the SVS, one volume is designated a container attribute volume (CAV) and, as such, is configured to store (“cache”) a canonical copy of certain, rapidly-changing attribute meta-data, including time stamps and container length, associated with that container.
