  • Patent number: 12049830
Abstract: A drain assembly includes a drain tube and a flapper assembly. The drain tube extends between a first tube end and a second tube end. The first tube end is configured to fluidly attach to an inlet plenum assembly of an engine system of a rotorcraft. The flapper assembly is positioned along the second tube end and comprises a flapper door that is configured to allow fluid to drain from the drain assembly to an engine compartment of the engine system of the rotorcraft. The flapper door is configured to prevent fluid, engine compartment gases, or flame from flowing into the drain assembly through the second tube end of the drain tube.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 22, 2022
Date of Patent: July 30, 2024
    Assignee: LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION
Inventors: Robert J. Andrejczyk, William DiMaggio

  • Patent number: 9944400
Abstract: A method of adaptive engine acceleration for accessory loads includes receiving an accessory load indicator corresponding to an accessory load of an engine. The accessory load indicator is compared to an adjustment threshold. An acceleration rate of the engine is increased based on determining that the accessory load indicator is below the adjustment threshold. The acceleration rate of the engine is decreased based on determining that the accessory load indicator is above the adjustment threshold.

  • Patent number: 9849996
Abstract: A method of engine electrical load shed control includes receiving an accessory load indicator corresponding to an accessory load of an engine. A request for acceleration of the engine is detected. One or more electrical buses are depowered based on the accessory load indicator exceeding a shedding threshold and detection of the request for acceleration of the engine.
