    Abstract: The spray dried plasma by the nature of its characteristics and the process by which it is made allows for a dried plasma with reduced pathogens. It has at least three aspects of pathogen reduction that results in a plasma product with reduced or no pathogens. The first aspect relates to a spray drying disposable and machine that eliminates or minimizes the introduction of pathogens into the spray drying process and is referred to as the anti-contamination process. The second aspect of pathogen reduction relates to the spray drying process and parameters that reduces pathogens that may be present in the donor plasma, and/or inhibit pathogen growth and/or pathogen proliferation introduced by the donor plasma. The third aspect results in reduced pathogens occurring during storage of the dried plasma wherein the manufacturing and storage conditions are such that pathogens are reduced, and/or pathogen growth and/or pathogen proliferation are inhibited.

    Abstract: An alignment system that allows a spray drying disposable to align in both spray drying apparatus and finishing apparatus. The first instance is a locating arrangement wherein a locator is disposed on the spray drying apparatus and/or finishing apparatus and another locator is on the spray drying head of the disposable such that the locators allow for alignment of the disposable with the spray drying apparatus or finishing apparatus. A second instance of an alignment element includes a guide that is offset as positioned on the spray drying head of the disposable. Yet a third instance of the alignment arrangement relates to the gas exhaust port. In a fourth instance, the alignment system includes a positioning arrangement to reversibly attach the outer wall of the disposable to the finishing apparatus. A reed relay 16 having a sense coil 16a serially connected to the main winding in one preferred embodiment and in parallel with the main and start windings in a second preferred embodiment, is magnetically coupled to reed contacts 16b, 16c. Reed contact 16b is connected to a location intermediate the PTC resistor 12 and the triac 14 while reed contact 16c is connected to the gate of the triac. A gate signal phase shifting network comprising capacitor C1-R2 is also connected to reed contact 16c and the gate.

The optic fiber cable includes a core having at least one optical fiber transmission medium disposed within a tubular member that has a jacket system disposed thereabout. A longitudinally extending detectable element is provided that does not function as a communications cable and that is detachably connected to said tubular member by the jacket system which is also disposed about the detectable element so as to define a web between the tubular member and the detectable element. The detectable element terminates before at least one of the distribution enclosure or the premise. The web defines a notch between the tubular member and the detectable element which serves as a shear plane to facilitate the propagation of a tear between the tubular member and the detectable element.

Specifically, this invention incorporates a detectable and easily removable locating element which is attached to the optical fiber cable by a web defined by the jacket extending over both the optical fiber cable and the locating element. The web allows for the locating strand to be easily removed once separation of the locating element from the optical fiber cable is initiated. The web is designed to allow the initial tear to propagate into a precise longitudinal tear along a predetermined length of the optical fiber cable.
