    Abstract: A device (10) for filtering and directing effluent to one of a plurality of angularly spaced drainfield trenches. The device (10) includes a housing (12) in which a core (14) is received. A filter medium (18) is inserted within the core (14) and extends around an inside of the core (14). Effluent channelled into the core (14) passes outwardly therefrom through a port (52) formed therein. This port is in registration with one of a plurality of ports (54) formed in the housing (12). Selective registration is accomplished by rotating the core (14) relative to the housing (12).
