  • Publication number: 20240074486
Abstract: A melt-blown fabric for pouching smokeless tobacco or a smokeless tobacco substitute can include melt-blown polymer fibers. The fabric can have a basis weight of less than 30 gsm and a tensile strength of at least 4mJ in at least one predetermined direction. Method of making the fabric can include melt-blowing a polymeric material against a support surface and bonding the fibers or arranging them in a predetermined orientation. Pouched smokeless tobacco or tobacco substitute products including the fabrics provided herein can provide desirable flavor and tactile experience.

  • Patent number: 6675056
Abstract: An intelligent component feeder includes a lever-powered mechanical component feed system and a memory device mounted on the mechanical feed system. The memory device has a two-terminal electrical interface, the two terminals are associated with data and data ground, respectively. The memory device, which is preferably of a non-volatile, rewritable type, contains information indicating a component ID, component Lot Number, feeder serial number, feeder type, number of feeder actuations, and a Quantity value for a reel of components mounted on the component feeder. The intelligent component feeder further includes a data connector for coupling data from the memory device to a data adapter of a placement device. The data connector comes into contact with the data adapter when the intelligent component feeder is installed on the placement device. The terminal associated with data ground is coupled with a body of said intelligent component feeder.

  • Patent number: 5927635
Abstract: A conventional roll of construction line can be outfitted with a reel having two shoulders connected by a shank through a spool on which the construction line is wound. The shank extends longitudinally from one of the shoulders and is releasably fastened to the other shoulder. A handle is mounted rotatably on either a longitudinal extension of the shank or one of the shoulders. Wedges on the shoulders engage the ends of the reel, and spurs on the shank engage the inside surface of the reel. A brake mechanism on the handle and a removable crank or winding knob are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5664739
Abstract: A line reel for dispensing string, construction line, or cord includes a cap that can be inserted into one end of a spool holding the material to be dispensed, a midsection that can be inserted into the other end of the spool, and a rotatable handle connected to the midsection on the opposite side from the spool. In one embodiment, the cap and midsection frictionally engage the inside of the spool and can be pulled out of the spool for re-use with another spool. In an alternate embodiment, a latch structure on the cap and midsection latches the cap to the midsection in the spool so they cannot be easily removed from the spool once assembled. The line reel includes a notch to hold the free end of the construction line or string. The cap, spool, and midsection, while positioned structurally so that they do not rotate in relation to each other, are able to rotate in relation to the handle to facilitate dispensing the construction line.

  • Patent number: 4654250
Abstract: A caulking tape for sealing joints such as around bath tubs and shower bases. A bead of butyl rubber based sealant permanently adheres to one side of a flexible strip of opaque polyester film. The tape is wound in a spiral roll and one side of the polyester strip is coated with a siliconized release agent from which the sealant releases to permit the tape to be drawn off of the roll for use. The bead of sealant is set back from the edges of the carrier strip so that it does not squeeze past the strip when the tape is applied and pressed against the joint. When the tape is fully applied to the joint, the sealant provides an effective seal and is completely covered by the attractive polyester strip to enhance the appearance of the caulked joint.

  • Patent number: 4096579
Abstract: A velocity control apparatus for a disk drive of the type comprising a recording disk rotatable about its axis, an electromagnetic read/write head for reading data from and writing data onto tracks on a surface of the disk, and means coupled to the head and responsive to velocity command signals for controlling the direction and speed of movement of the head. The velocity control apparatus includes a memory divided into a plurality of sections respectively associated with different ranges of desired distances to be traveled by the head, each section containing a predetermined number of addressable storage locations together defining an approximation of a desired velocity trajectory curve for a desired distance to be traveled included within the range associated with said section.
