Abstract: A multi-part running board assembly attachable to a vehicle, including a longitudinally extending deck, a decorative overlay which covers the deck, and a pair of end caps which partially overlap the ends of the deck and overlay is provided. The deck includes recessed areas for receiving tab members which extend downwardly from the bottom surface of the overlay to secure the overlay to the deck. The end caps typically include vertically projecting portions which preclude debris from being projected upon the outer surface of the overlay by the vehicle's tires.
