Abstract: A water-soluble complex which is isolable from acid-precipitable material recovered from cultures of the bacterium, Achromobacter xerosis, and which is effective in inducing a variety of therapeutic responses commonly associated with biological responses modifiers and anti-inflammatory agents and which exhibits significant therapeutic activity in higher vertebrates at a dosage ranging from about 0.1 to about 25.0 mg/kg of body weight. Also disclosed are compositions containing such complexes, methods of preparation with such complexes and methods of treatment with compositions having such complexes.
