  • Patent number: 5848792
Abstract: A target for use with darts, for example, has a base on which a target frame is secured, the frame having a plurality of spaces within each of which is a segment that is movable toward the base when it is struck by a thrown dart. Corresponding ones of the segments have cavities therein for the accommodation of inserts which are movable independently of the segment toward the target base when such inserts are struck by a thrown dart. The inserts are so arranged that, together, they form an annulus or ring of individually displaceable components. Interposed between the target base and the target segments and inserts are switches and a resilient biasing pad which bias the segments to an initial, at rest position.

  • Patent number: 4979739
Abstract: A pool table having a playing surface with which ball accomodating pockets are associated. Pocketed balls are conveyed by a runway system via a trap toward a compartment at one end of the table that is accessible to a player. The trap has a gate operable to prevent passage of the object balls into the compartment. The operation of the gate is controlled by a latch which is movable between a first position in which it latches the gate in ball-blocking position and a second position in which it enables balls to pass the gate. The position of the latch is responsive to operation of a latch driving motor.

  • Patent number: 4836556
Abstract: A dart game target having a base on which is assembled a plurality of individual, relatively movable target members separated from one another by a frame having thin ribs interposed between adjacent members. The target members are yieldably biased in a direction away from the base. Movement of the members in a direction away from the base is limited by laterally extending projections carried by the target members which underlie the inner surfaces of the ribs. The arrangement is such that no part of any rib overlies any exposed part of any target member. Warping of the frame or of the base is compensated for by protrusions on selected ones of the ribs which extend in a direction toward the base.

  • Patent number: 4586716
Abstract: A double bullseye for a dart game which can be electronically scored when hit by a dart wherein the outer bullseye comprises a concentric moveable segment and the inner bullseye comprises a cylindrical member received in a central guide opening of the outer segment and wherein the inner segment is formed with a shoulder which limits the outward motion of the inner bullseye. Both the inner and the outer bullseyes are formed with feet portions which are engageable with electronic pressure sensitive switches so as to record hits by a dart in the respective segments.

  • Patent number: 4516781
Abstract: A novel dart game which allows one or more players to participate and which has a dart board mounted over a matrix switch and with segments to actuate the matrix switch when struck by a dart thrown by a player and which uses a first microcomputer to scan the matrix switch to detect where the dart struck the dart board and a second microcomputer which performs numerous functions such as totalizing the score for each player, actuating indicators which inform the players of the conditions and score of the game for each player. The novel dart board is formed with movable segments which are guided by guide ribs so as to provide smooth and accurate response of the segments to darts received on the board.

  • Patent number: 4319434
Abstract: A surface processing machine including at least one motor-driven spider arm assembly each of the arms of the spider having rotatably mounted as the ends thereof a surface processing tool such as a brush, buffing pad, grinding stone or the like and wherein the surface processing tools are mounted on an axis which is substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the spider arm assembly and further including in the case of coaxially disposed spider assemblies a flexible coupling device which not only allows for planar flexibility between the spiders but also is effective to assure that the vertical loads transmitted to all of the surface processing tools connected to each of the spider arms are evenly distributed to each of the surface processing tools.

  • Patent number: 4155596
Abstract: A terrazzo grinding machine including a pair of motor driven rotatable co-axially disposed cutter holding spiders, the spiders being interconnected by means of a flexible coupling said spiders including a plurality of clusters of cutting discs supported on the spiders with their axes substantially parallel to the radii of the spiders.

  • Patent number: 4043738
Abstract: A portable vibratory compacting machine for compacting and flattening a poured floor covering. The machine includes a generally horizontal frame including a pair of depending flanges on its opposite sides. A plurality of transversely aligned rollers are rotatably mounted by the longitudinal flanges for contacting the floor and supporting the weight of the machine. A reversible handle is provided so that the machine can be pushed or pulled in either direction, and a vibratory motor is secured to the top of the frame for vibrating the rollers. A plurality of transverse strengthening channels are connected to the frame to evenly distribute the vibratory forces across all of the rollers.
