  • Patent number: 7121463
Abstract: In a system and method for securely storing and controlling the dispensing of a payout, the system includes a payout dispenser for securely storing and dispensing a payout, and a terminal for controlling the dispensing of the payout and for interfacing with an attendant in connection with the payout. The system further includes a network for interconnecting the payout dispenser and the terminal. The system may also include a device for indicating a payout payable responsive to the input of a person to whom the payout is payable, wherein the payout-indicating device may be connected to the payout dispenser and the terminal by a network. The system may further include a device for enabling the dispensing of a payout breakage amount, which is the difference between the payout in a payout dispenser denomination and the payment to be paid out.

  • Patent number: 5833540
Abstract: A distributed players' club network comprised of a plurality of games positioned in a plurality of locations that are interconnected by a wide area network to a central computer which has files for each player who has enrolled to play in a bonus club system. The gaming machines have communication devices which send information to the central computer indicative of a player playing at the game and also receive information from the central computer. The communication devices are configured to allow the player to enroll directly at the game by selecting a member ID number and a personal identification number which are then transmitted to the central computer causing the central computer to open a file for the particular player. Further, the gaming machine provides information to a processor within the communication device while the player is playing the game and the processor, in conjunction with the central computer, determines whether the player is entitled to receive a bonus award based upon his or her play.

  • Patent number: 5730147
Abstract: A combined thermometer and fecal sampling apparatus which allows concurrent sampling of a fecal specimen and measuring of body temperature from a single penetration of the rectum. In a preferred embodiment the apparatus includes a proximal end, or handle which is enlarged to facilitate handling and encloses a digital thermometer with a switch cover on one end of the handle covering a switch that activates the thermometer. A temperature display window is provided in the handle of the device for displaying temperature and in a most preferred embodiment, grip splines or knurls are provided on the handle to facilitate gripping and rotating the apparatus to collect the fecal sample. An elongated, hollow probe extends from the handle to a proximal end that terminates in a fecal sampler which is characterized by an ovoid loop having concave collection surfaces defining an ovoidal cavity.
