  • Publication number: 20160225356
Abstract: A tuner, a display, and a method implement the steps of (a) illuminating a configuration of elements within a first pattern of elements to indicate the target frequency for tuning; (b) illuminating a configuration of elements within a different, second pattern in which the number of illuminated elements corresponds to the number of coarse increments of sharp or flat deviation or total coarse deviation of the sensed waveform fundamental frequency relative to the target frequency; and (c) upon tuning to less than the minimum coarse sharp or flat deviation relative to the target frequency, illuminating a configuration of elements within a different, third pattern in which the number of illuminated windows corresponds to the number of fine increments of deviation or total fine deviation relative to the target frequency. These steps are substantially simultaneously implemented for both sharp and flat deviation to arrive at a final tuning.

  • Publication number: 20090090551
Abstract: A snake electrical connector comprising a central snake cable having a plurality of conductors terminating at a base connector at each end of the snake cable. Each of the base connectors has a respective plurality of individual electrical contacts corresponding to each conductor. A fan-out is provided at each end of the snake cable, each fan-out having a connector conductively mated with the contacts in the base connector of the snake cable, and a plurality of cables extending therefrom with an end connector at the distal end of each cable. A latching mechanism is provided for selectively attaching and detaching the connector of a fan-out to a base connector of said snake cable. The connector may be provided as a kit wherein a plurality of fan-outs is included at least some of which have a different array of connectors at their distal ends.

  • Patent number: 6271464
Abstract: A detector assembly which includes an electrically conductive, two-piece, molded plastic housing including a relatively rigid bulkhead portion having a groove and a second dome portion having a sidewall extending over an adjacent bulkhead portion. The dome portion has a plurality of relatively flexible tabs, a part of each tab extending into the groove and making mechanical contact with the bulkhead portion via the groove to provide a press fit therebetween. An electrically conductive barrel is disposed within the housing and is electrically connected via an electrically conductive o-ring to the bulkhead to form an electrically shielded chamber within the housing in conjunction with the bulkhead and the dome portions. Equipment to be shielded is disposed within the chamber and is secured to the barrel.

  • Patent number: 6040523
Abstract: A detector/seeker assembly which includes an electrically conductive molded plastic two-piece housing including a relatively rigid bulkhead portion having a groove and a dome portion having a sidewall extending over and adjacent to the bulkhead portion. The dome portion has a plurality of relatively flexible tabs, a part of each tab extending into the groove and making mechanical contact with the bulkhead portion via the groove to provide a press fit therebetween. An electrically conductive barrel is disposed within the housing and is electrically connected via an electrically conductive o-ring to the bulkhead to form an electrically shielded first chamber within the housing for containing equipment to be shielded from electromagnetic radiations therein. A second chamber for containing optics therein is provided by a groove disposed in the barrel and one in the dome with an o-ring disposed in the groove and contacting the barrel and the dome to provide a seal therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5676223
Abstract: A business case comprises a front compartment, middle compartment, an expandable rear compartment, a removable portable computer carrying case designed to carry a portable computer, and a suit carrier. The bag member can be dropped into one of two panels located on the front face of the front compartment. The panels additionally allow for easy access to a portable computer and related accessories stored within the carrying case. Alternatively, the carrying case can be closed and stored in the expandable rear compartment when the suit carrier is stored in the front compartment of the case. The middle compartment is sized to hold clothing and travel related items for business trips and is equipped with pouches for smaller items. Furthermore, the middle compartment of the housing may include wheels, handles, and feet for easily moving and balancing the case.

  • Patent number: 4501072
Abstract: A dryer for printed material and the like including a frame structure with upper and lower heater panel assemblies vertically movably mounted therein. Each heater panel assembly includes a plurality of quartz tube heat lamps. The heater panel assemblies are reciprocated between open and closed positions by a pneumatic cylinder. An air handling system includes a drying air subsystem, a cooling air subsystem and an exhaust system. A control system includes an infrared detector for determining the temperature of printed material in the dryer and automatically adjusts the output of the heat lamps to maintain a predetermined web temperature.

  • Patent number: 4425011
Abstract: The cage of a tapered roller bearing has large and small end rings that extend respectively along the large and small end faces of the tapered rollers and in addition bridges that connect the end rings and maintain the proper spacing between the rollers. Each bridge includes a web that projects radially inwardly toward the bearing cone. One end of each web merges with the small end ring, while the other end forms a corner located inwardly from the large end ring. Indeed, the corner is located opposite to the thrust rib of the bearing cone. Each web in turn is provided with a groove that extends its full length, with the end located at the small end ring being closer to the axis of rotation than the end that is at the corner. During operation of the bearing, a liquid lubricant is directed into the space between the small end ring and the bearing cone.
