  • Patent number: 5067136
Abstract: A wireless alarm system using spread spectrum transmitters, fast frequency shift keying, spread spectrum receivers and computer with a display. The spread spectrum transmitter includes an oscillator coupled to a microprocessor with chip code generation means, preamble register, address register and data register. The spread spectrum receiver acquires synchronization of the spread spectrum signal using a microprocessor coupled to the quieting, signal strength or baseband output of the receiver, with a two step algorithm. The steps comprise achieving a coarse lock and a fine lock to the spread spectrum signal.

  • Patent number: 4826193
Abstract: A wheel chair restraint that includes a bracket that attaches to the wall of a hospital hallway at a desired height. The bracket includes an envelope with a top opening and a vertical slot for receiving a T-shape latch. The latch is tethered to the wheel chair and can be readily connected or disconnected to the bracket. This satisfies the combined safety requirements of keeping a clear pathway through the hallway while also enabling quick disconnect of the latch for emergency evacuation in a catastrophe situation such as a fire.

  • Patent number: 4681509
Abstract: A variable inlet vane assembly for use with force draft and induction draft systems having a fan. The vane assembly comprises a mounting base and a hub supported in spaced relationship by a plurality of supports. The inlet vanes are pivotally supported between the base and the hub and are engaged by an actuating ring. An annular sliding bearing is interposed between the actuating ring and the hub. A plurality of stationary dorsal vanes are mounted downstream and in close relationship to the main vanes to control violent back eddies of air which occur at low vane closures.

  • Patent number: 4605355
Abstract: A propeller includes a rotatable hub with a plurality of sockets, blades with roots that fit in the sockets and a plurality of pitch blocks which fit between the blade root and the socket walls. Hubs with two, three, and four sockets are shown. The blades have no twist and are formed of molded, glass reinforced nylon. The pitch blocks are also nylon and different pairs of pitch blocks may be used to hold the blades at different angles. All nylon components are designed to minimize stress concentrations. The hubs although also of nylon have steel reinforcing plates within them which take the centripetal forces. These forces are transmitted through bolts to passage walls in the pitch blocks, and from the pitch blocks through interengaging teeth to the blade roots. A snap on, snap off aerodynamic spinner is also provided.
