Abstract: A belt loading assist apparatus for use in combination with wide abrasive machines wherein the belt loading assist apparatus comprises a generally inverted "U"-shaped support arm which is arranged to be pivotally moved between operative and retracted dispositions. The axis of the support arm is generally coincidental with the axis of the upper guide drum and the support arm has an upper arcuate surface which is substantially coincidental with an outward projection of the surface of the upper guide drum. A support cylinder is provided for releasably retaining the support arm in its operative disposition.

Abstract: A particle monitoring device located in a line carrying a moving fluid, as air, containing particles. The device has a particle sensing member providing audio signals that are in proportion to the amount of particles moving with the fluid. The sensing member is a flexible sheet member closing an open end of a connector housing having a chamber. Particles that hit the active section of the sheet member produce an audio signal providing information feedback of the amount of particles moving with the fluid.

Abstract: A particle monitoring apparatus having a particle sensing unit which receives mechanical signals caused by impaction of particles on a sensor and transforms the mechanical signals to an electrical signal related to the amount of particles moving with a fluid, as air. The output signal is used to produce readable information related to the movement of particles in the fluid.

Abstract: An improvement in tongs such as those utilized for the handling of foods and the like including a scissor connection for longitudinally extending grasping elements and handle elements. The grasping elements provide substantially partially spherical shaped food retaining devices having drainage openings formed therethrough and having the lower most ends thereof providing extensions to provide pincers for the grasping of relatively small articles therebetween. The handle portions of the tongs are provided with longitudinally arranged finger receiving openings such that the unit is usable in and operable in a longitudinal attitude as compared to a transverse or side operative position.

Abstract: A particle flow monitor mounted on a housing having a passage for carrying moving fluid and particles produces audio signals that are in proportion to the amount of particles moving with the fluid. The monitor has a sensing unit having one or more enclosed chambers or cells closing an open end of the housing. A portion of the sensing unit is exposed to a flow chamber within the housing. Particles that impinge on the portion of the sensing unit produce an audio signal which provides audio information feedback as to the amount of particles moving with the fluid.
