  • Patent number: 8680773
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a decorative light string system comprising a light string comprising a plurality of lighting bulbs arranged electrically in series, wherein each light bulb comprises at least two LED chips, wherein half of said LED chips are connected in parallel and wherein half of said LED chips are connected in reverse parallel; and an adapter comprising a rectifier, wherein when the plug of the light string is plugged into the outlet adapter in a first orientation, the rectifier allows passage of a half-rectified wave lighting the LEDs connected in parallel, and wherein when the plug of the light string is plugged into the outlet adapter in a second orientation, the rectifier allows passage of a half-rectified wave lighting the LEDs connected in reverse parallel. Also included are methods of using said adapter and said decorative light string system.

  • Patent number: 7805486
Abstract: A meeting effectiveness indicator provides information to participants of a meeting. The information includes messages that the meeting has gone off topic, and resources are being wasted. Participants within a room or local vicinity of the indicator used wired or wireless transmitters to send indications that the meeting is going off topic. Remote participants linked to a network also send indications via a network interface. Once a total number of indications reaches a warning threshold, the indicator warns the participants that the meeting is going off topic with a warning message. If additional indications are received, then the total number of indications will reach a tangent threshold, and the participants are alerted using a tangent message that the meeting is off topic.

  • Patent number: 5913995
Abstract: Sandwich fiberglass laminate components and a process for fabricating same for boats and the like. The process employs a unique vacuum manifold (12) incorporated into the mold to an inner layer (3) of the component. Also, recesses in the mold are covered with pre-made inserts (22) molded into the layer to form hollow boxes (4, 5) for instruments, consoles and beams. The hollow boxes may be reinforced with metal inserts (20) for attaching support beams. Atmospheric feed holes (21) are drilled into the hollow boxes to prevent collapse of the boxes during the molding process and to yield a better mold. After the molding process the periphery of the component may be trimmed to form an integral edge (7) of the component. This process results in a sandwich fiberglass boat hull or other component having finished inner (3) and outer (2) layers with hollow boxes for instruments, consoles and support beams which are integral with at least one layer of the component and edges without layer separation.
