  • Patent number: 11833896
Abstract: A retention mechanism for a removable access door includes a retention tab positioned along a side of the access door. The retention tab includes a resiliently deflectable stem and at least two engagement heads projecting from the stem. The tab extends to a first distance from a reference surface of the access door. An overstress prevention structure is positioned along the side of the access door so as to enable the retention tab to contact the overstress prevention structure when the stem is deflected a predetermined amount. The overstress prevention structure extends to a second distance from the reference surface, wherein the second distance is greater than the first distance. Support walls may strengthen the overstress prevention structure against forces exerted by the retention tabs during deflection of the tabs. The support walls may form a protective “shroud” around the retention tab.

  • Patent number: 11608003
Abstract: A vehicular storage arrangement includes a storage compartment, a resiliently normally bendable divider for dividing the storage compartment, and a mount for the divider in the storage compartment. The mount is configured to make slidable peripheral engagement with the divider, under which the mount is configured to support the divider in a mounted position, and urge the divider to normally bend in the mounted position, thereby tightening the slidable peripheral engagement.

  • Patent number: 10766393
Abstract: A cup holder assembly for a seat assembly of a vehicle includes a side shield and a net. The side shield includes an inner surface, an outer surface, a curved indentation wall extending from the outer surface, and a bottom wall. The net has an upper edge, a lower edge, and a pair of side edges. The lower edge has a length less than a length of the upper edge. The lower edge and the pair of side edges of the net engage with the outer surface of the side shield to bound at least a portion of the curved indentation wall. The net includes an apex that extends outwardly beyond the outer surface such that the net is configured to retain an object within the cup holder assembly.

  • Publication number: 20090167070
Abstract: An armrest for a seat assembly includes has a support surface for supporting an arm of the occupant and a bottom surface opposite the support surface. The armrest is pivotally coupled to the seat back for movement about a pivot axis between a use position, wherein the support surface extends generally orthogonally relative to the seat back to support the arm of the occupant, and a stored position, wherein the support surface of the armrest is generally parallel with the seat back. The entire support surface of the armrest is forward of the front surface of the seat back when the armrest is in the use position. Additionally, the pivot axis of the armrest is closer to the bottom surface of the armrest than the top support surface and is closer to the front surface of the seat back than the back surface.

  • Publication number: 20090001783
Abstract: A seat assembly for supporting an occupant in a passenger compartment of an automotive vehicle. The seat assembly includes a seat back for supporting the back of the occupant. The seat back includes an airbag module, a frame, a trim cover and a plurality of straps connecting the trim cover to the frame. The airbag module has an inflatable airbag. The trim cover covers The airbag module, foam pad and frame. The trim cover has a first seam through which the airbag can deploy during operation of the airbag module. The trim cover has a second seam spaced apart from the first seam. The plurality of straps prevent stretching of the trim cover during deployment of the airbag and direct the energy associated with the deployment of the airbag toward the first seam. First and second straps of the plurality of straps each have a first end fixedly secured to the trim cover along the first seam and a second end fixedly secured to the frame. The airbag module is disposed the first and second straps.
