Abstract: An electrical connector assembly (6) comprises, a header (7) through which conductive pins (3) extend, a series of parallel keyways (23) in the header (7), an electrical connector (12) for connection to some of the pins (7), at least one external key (24) on the connector (12) being received along one of the keyways (23) to align the connector (12), and a pivotable hook (30) adapted to impinge a ledge (22) of the connector (12).

Abstract: An SCSI cable assembly (30) with a termination circuit included within one of the connector housings (44) is disclosed. The termination circuit is on a circuit board (52) that is retained within a cavity (68) between two solder nest halves (50). The solder nest halves (50) have a plurality of openings (70) that are in alignment with contact pads (54) on a surface of the circuit board (52). Solder segments (100) are arranged within the openings (70), and conductors (48) of a cable (32) are individually inserted into the openings in thermal engagement with the solder segments to form a solder nest assembly (40). An electrical connector (42) having a plurality of contact leads (58) spaced similarly to the spacing of the openings (70) is assembled to the solder nest assembly so that each lead (58) is in thermal engagement with a respective conductor (48) in a respective opening (70). Each lead (58) is attached to a common carrier strip (104) which is a self regulating temperature heater.

Abstract: An external key (24) on a connector (12), the key being adapted with multiple slots (35) in a clip (25), rails (36) in the slots (35) being shorter in length than the slots (35), projecting posts (38) on the connector (12) received in the slots (35), projecting latches (40) on the connector (12), and the clip (25) being slidable to move the rails (36) into channels (39) of the posts (38), and to latch the clip (25) against the latches (40).

Abstract: A connector assembly (28) for mounting a daughter board (20) on a mother board (66) and providing electrical connections therebetween. The connector assembly (28) is made up of a housing (74) mounted on the daughter board (20), a plurality of coaxial cable subassemblies (30), a faceplate member (76) and a cover member (78). The cable subassemblies (30) are held in the housing (74) with their two ends in positions corresponding to contact positions on the daughter board (20) and the mother board (66), with the cable subassemblies (30) being arranged to make a right angle turn. The faceplate member (76) includes a shroud portion (102) which surrounds contact assemblies (38) adapted for matingly engaging corresponding contact assemblies in a housing block (70) which is part of connector assembly (68) mounted on the mother board (66). The shroud portion (102) is sized to surround and frictionally engage the housing block (70).
