  • Patent number: 8462508
Abstract: A heat sink comprises a vapor chamber base formed in a three-dimensional arrangement that mirrors topology of underlying structures on a substrate upon which the heat sink can be mounted, and at least one fin coupled to the vapor chamber base.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2007
Date of Patent: June 11, 2013
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.

  • Patent number: 4736482
Abstract: A pipeline pig bypassing assembly is provided which remvoes a pipe pig from a pipeline system and which reintroduces a pig into the system when a second pig enters the assembly. Preferably, the bypassing assembly includes a tubular receiving means connected between two pipes of a pipeline system, a diverter for diverting a pig moving through a first pipe into the assembly, and releasing means for retaining a pipe pig in the receiver and for releasing the pig into a second pipe when a second pig enters the assembly. The receiving means sealingly engages a pipe pig therein to prevent passage therethrough of the material being transported by the pipeline system.

  • Patent number: 4444331
Abstract: A closure assembly is provided for high pressure applications. It includes a hollow cylindrical member having a beveled end for welding to a pressure vehicle and a threaded end for receiving a cap. An annular projection extends from the threaded end and includes a O-ring for sealing purposes. The projection has relatively thin walls which allow it to dilate under pressure and provide an excellent seal.

  • Patent number: 4401133
Abstract: An improvement in a device adapted to be connected to a pipeline for launching generally spherical pigs into the pipeline, which device includes an elongated barrel secured to the pipeline and having a forward end for passage of a pig from the barrel and an escapement means for allowing passage of the pig from the barrel into the pipeline. The improvement involves an elongated pig receptacle having an open end and adapted to be telescopically moved into the barrel to an inserted position with the opened end at the forward end of the barrel and the escapement means includes a first member carried by the receptacle, a second member fixed onto the barrel and interconnecting means for drivingly interconnecting the first and second members when the receptacle is in the inserted position within the barrel so that the member secured on the barrel can be moved in a manner to operate the member fixed and carried by the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4335757
Abstract: A temporary pipeline capping unit wherein the unit is permanently attached over an opening in a pipeline and includes a capped branch line nipple and an internal element isolating the branch line nipple from the pipeline opening whereby a branch line can be connected to the pipeline by uncapping the branch line nipple and attaching the branch line to this nipple. The internal element is forced by the fluid pressure in the pipeline to a position communicating the subsequently installed branch line with the pipeline opening.

  • Patent number: 4288001
Abstract: A pressure device is provided with a cover member which is removably attached thereto by a pair of clamping rings which are hydraulically actuated laterally outwardly and inwardly relative to flanges on the pressure device and cover member to respectively release the cover and interengage the cover with the device. The clamping rings are pivotally interconnected with the device such that lateral outward displacement of the clamping rings is accompanied by radial outward displacement of the pivot axis to provide clearance for removal of the cover member. The clamping ring members are guided during a portion of the lateral inward and outward displacement thereof, and the guide arrangement supports the clamping rings in the laterally outermost positions thereof.
